I am the collector who spotted this ridculous item on Ebay. But what's even more ridiculous is that someone actually bid and purchased this fake autograph. If a Don Drysdale fan purchased this item, then they really aren't a Don Drysdale fan. This is why the hundreds of thousands of so-called "collectors" who buy on Ebay now own fake autograph items. They believe anything they read. Do you really think that $35.00 Derek Jeter autographed baseball you own is authentic? Do you really think that Willie Mays autographed bat you won on Ebay for $49.00 is authentic? Think again.
Funny to read about this occurance. I was on ebay a month ago and was researching a price range for an alec guinness autographed star wars picture. Most of the more reputable dealers online wanted $300- 400, and i saw a nice looking one on ebay. It was guarranted hand signed, which it was, but not by alec guinness. See it looked perfect but when turning over noticed a lucasfilm copywrite 2005 sticker. Sir Alec died in 2000. Talented at faking signatures, but lazy when chossing items. Sadly if it sounds to good to be true, It almost always is. Amazingly i have seen atleast 20 Mickey Mantle signed balls that a blind man would have forged better.
