Jeter & Arod Signed Card For $75,000 on eBay!
You really need to see this auction. It is supposedly signed by both Derek Jeter and Alex Rodriguez (although the signatures don't look close). The seller is offering for $75,000!
They even offer a bonus in the auction if the cards goes for $75,050 (not $75,000) "If card gets sold for 75,050 we will include 9 additional Alex Rodriguez cards."
Are we missing something on this one? How much are the eBay fees a lone for listing something at $75,000?
47 Comments:
The seller of this card also writes " There is only 4 in the world. It is one of a kind. Its in mint condition. If card gets sold for 75,050 we will include 9 additional Alex Rodriguez cards."
Is this incredible or what!
Actually anything over $500.00 is just $4.80 to list, plus photos, etc. I guess he's hoping some idiot bids on it.
wtf? that is freakin amazing.
is that already taken down? i can't find it
Chris - Email me at Bigtruck260@msn.com so that I can have your address...I need your help. Speaking of Jeter and Yankees autos - check out this guy...rsmizel - he has sold about 12 Jeters, 3 Yankee and Mets Team balls, A cardinals team ball and several Pujols fakes. I could strangle him, but I'll just call him out here.
As far as the $75,000 goes - for that amount of money, I could call Steinbrenner's office and request a private signing in spring training with the whole team - If someone buys that, their posterity deserves the heirloom they will inherit.
You can find the auction here: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=180044890098&ssPageName=ADME:B:EF:US:2 or you can just click on the title of this post, thanks!
What does a Ruth/Gherig sig card go for? My guess is this is a kid playing around or a stoned college kid trying to get on the news. I just emailed him and asked how he know that there are only 4 in the world...I said something like - "it's not listed in Beckett" Hopefully, he tries to convince me that it'snot listed because it is so rare....
I think that this is the same dude that tried to sell an autographed Topps Reserve Pujols RC that was "super rare"...the idiot ruined a $100 card and put it up for a $10,000 buy it now....
Okay, Bigtruck. And yes, I have already complained about seller "rsmizel" weeks ago but Ebay hasn't done anything from what I can see. He has sold some really horrible fake autograph items. I also appreciate the fact that we are all contributing to this and that new members are coming on board.
good news! the guy with this jeter/ arod card will end the auction for $50,000 if 75 is too steep for anybody. i asked him how he got it and what is the lowest amount he would take and what number it was out of 4. his response was
"This is numberd 4/4 the lowest i would take it for is 50,000. If you would take it for that much ill end the auction and that card is yours.
Thanks"
what a jackass
I also wanted to make everyone aware that a old seller of thousands of fake autogrpah items whose ID used to be "Onlinesportsautographs" has changed their ID to "Onlinesportsnmore." They have not sold in a very, very long time, but with their changing of ID's I figure they will be selling again very soon.
Hey, J_Man, what a deal that is! Hehe. Makes you wonder if some idiot will bid on it. Wouldn't surprise me at all.
i asked him who he card is authenticated by and where it says on the card what number it is (it clearly isn't in the picture) and his response was "first let me know if you'll buy it for 50,000 before i answer that"
yeah, i might invest 50,000 in something without knowing any details. what a joke
Has anyone heard of CSC Collectibles out of Florida?
here's the explanation for this card, straight from the horse's mouth...
"Ok. the card is hand signed by alex rodriguez and derek jeter. I know its authntic because i won this thing to sit in the yankee dugout and i got the card signed there along with a bunch of othere signutchers. the card is in mint condtion. And in the long run, when they both retire the card value will be more than $150,000. I know so because there is a store where they sell sport memrobelia. Thats why im selling it for so much money.
Thanks"
i think i'd rather buy the ruth/mantle/jeter/mattingly cut signature card thats up right now for about $19,000. and those are authentic signatures too.
If he was so sure that his card would be valued at $150,000 when Jeter and Arod retired then he would be a moron to sell it now. As a matter of fact, if I was so sure of that, I'd buy the card for $30,000!!! As for "CSC Collectibles," there were fake autograph items that I revealed last year that had a COA from "CSC Collectibles" but I don't know if it's the same "CSC" that you are referring to. Have you guys checked out the fake team-signed items by seller "rsmizel." I asked him how he acquired all of his team-signed autograph items and he wrote "a group of friends and i all got autographs and we all put them on this site." He already removed one of his auctions tonight after I emailed him. He's been selling a lot of fake team-signed items during the last two weeks.
The CSC i am referring to is a firm out of Plantation,Florida.
Looks like that seller of fake autograph items named "Fansindastands" just put up a ton of 1-Day auctions that are all fake autographs. He does that to avoid his items getting removed on Ebay. Do not bid on this seller's items. Check out this obvious fake Derek Jeter autographed bat (Item Number 300045357036). All of his stuff is fake.
Fansindastands in one of the worst because they attempt to get the supposedly autograph savvy market by putting up a pictue a real item (in some cases) with a lame disclaimer (placement might be different, etc.) This is the worst type of eBay criminal because it is certainly first degree fraud. The can not say that they are selling something that they bought previously. His A-Rod stuff looks like it might be real, but you won't be getting that. The sig you get will look totally different...and it will not be signed by A-rod...it wll be signed by a complete turd.
Bigtruck, I couldn't have written it any better about "Fansindastands." Fraud to the highest degree!!!
Bigtruck recently alerted me to another seller who just pulled his fake autograph items after he knew he was being tracked. That seller's ID is "jdaddy05." And here's another seller that I've been complaining to Ebay about for the last 2 years. The ID of that seller is: "2004senod2004" Everyone of their items is a fake. Here's just one item of theirs: 300045085560
I realized I wrote my question on an old thread so I am asking it here. Can someone tell me if I bought a fake David Wright autograph? I purchased it a couple of months ago and after seeing the Steiner auto, I feel worried that I may have bought a fake. Link is:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=220012685835
Thanks
Yes Sir, you now own a fake autographed baseball of David Wright. As much as it is sad that you own a fake, I have no sympathy for you either. All of you people who own fakes simply believe anything you read, or because someone claims they got it in person, or because it comes with a COA that the seller printed from their PC, etc. And that is the reason why legitimate sellers of authentic autographs can't get a fair price for their items. If you totaled all of those BS sellers on Ebay who claim they've gotten all of their autographs in person, it would make you think that the athletes have no time to play their sport because they are signing autographs all the time. I'm wondering if you'll have the nerve to go back to the seller (gridiron-greats) and ask for a refund. Some of you who read this may think that I'm being "too tough" on the previous writer but I no longer have sympathy for people who buy fakes without doing some common-sense research first.
Well don't say you have no sympathy. I don't need to hear that. This was the first time I bought an autograph that was not from Steiner, Mounted Memories, or from a professional teams store. I know now not to buy on ebay unless it comes with a certificate from a company I have purchased from before (like Steiner) I am sending an email to this seller. He will probably ask me to have it pass PSA and I will definitely do that to get a refund. Thanks for your help/
The guy responded to my message as saying this:
"Its not authenticated through a company i had it signed when my son sat in the yankee dugout with the players and in the long run when they retire it will bo worth more than a 1/4 of a million dollars."
What a bullshiter!
I just received a response from seller "2004senod2004." Here it is: "i hv people that work for me in tampa and were he live thats why and i also go to spring traning and allstar game, shows............i dont know why u doing this to me i give a 100% money back if they not happing with the items." By the way, that is his spelling. He's has been selling a ton of Jeter fake autograph items.
Report just came back from PSA/DNA about thw Wright auto and it says likely not genuine. What should I tell the seller? Do I demand a refund?
Yes, demand a refund, Sir. It's a fake. Get your money back. Glad we can be of help to you. Hopefully you'll join us to educate the public about these bad sellers. We are all here to help each other to expose these bad guys for what they really are. Now go get your money back. Good luck, Sir.
does anyone know a good place to sell autographs that ARE REAL. since i am kinda unsure about selling on ebay since auto's on there are pretty sketchy . The autographs I have have been all in person since i go to the autograph signings in person and get it from this site CSAC.biz chicago based. And i have tons of autos like ben gordon's , billy williams, santo, fergie alot of these auto's and dont know where to sell them. any help would be appreaciated. thanks
bblefty21@aol.com with suggestions
fansindastands DOES NOT sell fakes. i have bought from them on numerous occasions and ALL items i have purchased through them have passed PSA. signatures of Jeter, A-Rod, Jason Giambi, Melky Cabrera, Don Mattingly, Mariano Rivera, and Barry Bonds have ALL passed PSA.
Peterweave is either Fansindastands, a close realative or "friend". There is no way you got PSA certification on those items from this purveyor of fraudelent material. I would be interested in seeing the certs. send them to Kelly so that we can have proof. Fansindastands is a know forgery operation in eBay circles...it is a shame not more people come to this site to be educated.
...And another thing Peete - I am an expert Cardinals autograph collector (have many pics to show you because I HAVE THEM IN HAND, and I have been to every game this year in the premium seats...there is no way that this item: 300040491844 could ever exist. The Pujols signature is horrible - look at the egaggerated S in Pujols. The Rolen job is equally as horrible. Edmonds is the WORST. After the big three, many fans do not know what the details of the other guys' signatures are (so they get ripped of by your boy, Fansindastands. There is no way all of the players would sign a bat such as this with the same pen...not to mention this is the 5th Cards team item I have seen from this guy. If I see anything with a Fansindastands COA attached to it at a local store, I am going to get the police involved. Mail fraud, wire fraud.
First of all, anything sold by "Fansindastands" on Ebay is a fake! The junk he had up for auction was incredibly bad and for people to bid on that stuff they had to be wannabe collectors. No real collector would take a second look at the garbage. I'll be working on getting in contact with the State Justice Dept. in Maryland so that they can look into the activties of that seller. It was welcome news today to read about that seller of Brett Favre fake autographs who is going to jail for 6 months. This will give me even more incentive to continue my invstigations and file my complaints.
Anyone know if this seller, "autographs_extraordinaire"is selling legit autographs?
Thanks
do you really think a signature will always look the same? if albert pujols is signing a bat in a hurry, do you thik the "S" will match up to the same "S" when he is sitting down taking his time to sign?
My first statement about PSA is true, believe me or not, i really don't care if you don't believe it. I feel no need to prove myself to any of you over the internet. i am not fansindastands, i am not a buddy or a relative to him. I am just a customer of his. some of his items may be fakes, and i will admit that many do look fake. and it is also quite suspicious about the numbers he sells. however, the items i have purchased did pass. real or not, they passed.
but since i am no expert, i am in the wrong.
this auction ends today and i will be SHOCKED if this card does not sell! i bet somebody is waiting for the last second to bid, just so they can get this card at a steal for $50 g's. lemme think... if i had $50,000, would i get an autographed card that has no credibility to it? NOPE. i'd go to steiner's website and spend maybe a grand to get both these guys signatures, then with the $49,000 left i'd go buy a new mercedes.
I just discovered this blog and think it's great what you are doing. I do think that there was a gross generalization made by bigtruck about there being no way that a cardinals item like this would exist. he states:
"There is no way all of the players would sign a bat such as this with the same pen...not to mention this is the 5th Cards team item I have seen from this guy."
The truth is I don't know about the Cards as I have only gotten sigs from them once at Dodgers stadium, but in an hour after a game I did manage to get Rolen, Pujols, Larussa, Edmonds, and eckstein on seperate items, but if I had tried to get on a bat together it would not have been a problem. I ctually managed to sneak in for a 2nd Pujols sig. 1 on ball 1 on ESPN Mag.
Each year in AZ I get several team items signed by each team that I go after. Typically a ball or 2 and at least one bat. I almost always complete the item with everyone on the roster and it is almost always in the same pen as I shy away if someone is using exclusively black sharpie at a given time, I'll wait and get them later. This last year I completed multiple roster items from Oakland, Seattle, San Diego, Colorado, Milwaukee, Kansas City and Texas.
So this type of item can indeed exist, which does not of course make this one genuine. However we should take issue with a specific signature, not just assume that there is no way someone could get so many on 1 item. Also it is definitely true that you will see some variations on some of their normal sigs from time to time when they are not sitting and signing.
I do think it suspicious when someone has 50 pujols items to sell, ok not suspicious just plain bogus. I do sell off some of my duplicate or perhaps less treasured items simply to support the costs of my nasty little autographing habit. I make nothing and am happy when I can merely break even while expanding my collection. Nice to meet everyone, Jeff

Thanks for the comment about the Cards team ball. I live in St. Louis and have made many trips to Spring Training over the years and the past 2 years have been vERY tough to get the whole team - lest Pujols alone. TO have 5 of the same item from THIS YEAR is not likely at all. I congratulate you on past success and many more, I hope. But this person did not take the time to acquire all of these sigs, and all of his other items with the same pen ,slant and flow. Not to mention that it is not authenticated by any big name. Why would you throw money away buy not having your items authenticated...Oh yeah, and the varying signatures...not like the variances on this ball. At least 5 of the players would have had to have been signing with thier opposite writing hand. Thanks for the comment - and glad to see you here...keep 'em coming.
I am wondering if this is fake - submitted it for PSA Quick Opinion, but then found the username here and see he previously sold a Jeter signed baseball. Do you think this is likely a fake too?

Thanks,

Yes, I found out from this guy the card's big secret and offered him $80 000 today. JESUS signed the back of it, and the reason Jete's and Arod's sig looks a little off because they told Jesus to sign it for them while they were in the dugout.
Anyway, new here and yes it's pretty obvious the fake's on ebay, and it's not just auto's. CNN have done reports that all kinds of things like prada, oakley, tiffany products are about 70% fake. Ebay would go broke if they took down everyone selling fake stuff. I just had a question though about Elite Sports Marketing. I bought a couple Rob Cano's from their sticker and guarantee, seem ok, and it's not like $50-$80 for one of his signed balls should be ludicrously low???? Just thought I'd ask your opinion on them. Thanks
Corie, big yankee collector (I'd never sell my stuff though, strictly collector)
Maybe I'll also add a question about James Spence Authenticators? I can't find a bad word about them. I have tons of Yankee stuff but am just starting to get into the auto's. The first ball I got was a 1960 team signed Yankees by JSA, although only around $600 they said the Mantle / Maris were "clubhouse" autographs but the rest were good so I was happy. Now I got a couple Cano's from Elite, wondering what you think before I go any further. I tend to go overboard with this stuff as you could see on ultimateyankees.com in the fanatic yankee fan section (from Saskatchewan) I'll also try help you out with anything I see anywhere, I'll bookmark your page. Thanks again
Corie
Corie -
ESM has good autos - I am positive that they hold private signing sessions. I have seen good Pujols stuff rom them and A-Rod and Sheff as well. Your Cano sig is good no worries - just be careful with their game used itmes - many here think that they have way too many things from Jeter. I like 'em personally.
As far as JSA - all of the authentication comapanies have made grave errors in autograph rulings. A good source for this is autographalert.com
I like JSA better than PSA becasue Spence has the final day and the process is not anonymous like PSA where you never know who actually looked at the sig. Spence is a smaller company...ant the turnaround time is better. Thier prices are a little nicer too!
STAY AWAY from GAI. I have seen terrible things that Justin Priddy has signed off on. This is only speculation, but I once saw a seller with a TON of fakes...none authenticated. A month later, everything was authenticated from GAI. A Rolen sig in Cards uniform usually sells for 50-60 bucks if real, and the GAI version did not sell for 19 dollars - even the public knew it was a forgery.
My two cents.
Thanks, glad to know elite is fairly dependable. Never have or will buy anything by GAI. Appreciate it.
Hey, fansindastands just switched all of his buyers feedback as private as of tomight. Dude is a "powerseller" and has a 99.5% satisfaction rating yet wants to now keep glowing remarks private. Dude put up 66 auction items last night but all auctions ended prematurely today for some reason. Some of the sigs he was auctioning today were from Tiger Woods, Jack Nicklaus, Arnold Palmer, Michael Jordan, Favre, Rice, Jeter, Rodriguez, Puhlhos, Aikman, Bush/Leinart and not to mention autographs from entire teams inlcuding the Saints, Bears, Colts, Eagles all on the same item. If anybody has any additional info on this seller that they can share please do so here. Persistence in holding these people accountable and eBay will pay off. I guarantee it! Enough is enough.
BEWARE OF FANSINDASTANDS! He does sell fakes and he will steal your money. He likes to sign things himself and then use online photos from other online memorabilia sellers and use those photos as his own. He needs to get booted off of Ebay before he robs another trusting person. just say no to FANSINDASTANDS on ebay!!
Hey I have a Steve Grant (former colts player) signed card, does anyone know how much it would go for $$$? email me at nikebaseballer@yahoo.com
