It's unbelievable that someone actually paid $182.50 for this mess of a fake. The autograph on this baseball isn't even close to Derek's actual signature. I complained to Ebay about this auction (and they did nothing about it) and I asked the seller about this autographed baseball (no response, of course). The buyer of this baseball could have had a Derek Jeter autographed baseball from Steiner Sports for close to the same price on Ebay. Most of the fake autographed baseballs of Derek Jeter go for between $30.00 and $60.00, but for someone to pay $182.50 for this obvious fake is incredible!
The seller of this obvious fake just put up (a one day auction to avoid detection) another fake Jeter autographed baseball that is the exact duplicate of this one. The Item Number is: 130038145833. And buyers are bidding on this garbage! Incredible.
You know what really stinks Chris? Ebay probably doesn't even investigate the reports of forgeries. It looks like whoever did this one started, got some coffee, started again...etc. I'll bet someone naive put a $300 bid on it and the seller's buddies bid it up until he was satisfied - the buyer thought he was getting a deal. Obvioulsy has no idea...
Yet a 3rd ball posted today, maybe it is real afterall, you know maybe he has Jeter chained to pipe in his basement with a black sharpie. eBay needs to can this guy.
Notice that Pjuice1757 is bidding on a ball authenticated by 5 star
collecibles, and in a previous feedback transaction (you have to dig) 5starcollecibles states that he is actually pjuice4757. Is he bidding on his own stuff...or helping a buddy run a scam?
Yes guys, there was definitely some "shill" bidding going on here. When I asked the seller about the second identical item they wrote me "It's actually the same ball, no takers on the last ball." That is his exact quote to me. Fake and shill bidding.
The winner of the second of these fakes (the auction ended 10/18) gave the seller a "Positive Feedback" the very next day (10/19)." I complained to Ebay about everything and I guarantee that nothing will be done. By the way, nice work "Bigtruck" on discovering that this seller's other Ebay ID is "Pjuice1757." And he's been bidding on his own items.
There's a third buyer connected to the other two buyers and their Ebay ID is "Hymes13." "Hymes13" won the second fake Jeter autographed baseball on the 18th and left feedback today like they had already received the baseball today. Interesting.
DOn't worry buddy - All three of those guys are gone from eBay. I just told that guy that I knew what was going on and contacted my local authorities. Funny how all three users are no longere registered and all of thier phony items are gone...WE rule.
Hey, Bigtruck, I did the same thing. I told them last night that I knew what they were doing and all of a sudden they are all "Unregistered" on Ebay. Thanks, Bigtruck. Now if Ebay would get on the sellers that are selling their garbage on a daily basis and getting away with it!
Guys, here is another user who needs shut down, he has a ton of fakes up right now, username fansindastands.
take him down.
In reference to the previous post I have complained to Ebay for a lng time about them (seller "fansindastands") but they won't do a thing to them. They presently have 134 fake autograph items up for auction. They are actually a old Ebay seller that used to sell fake autograph items and now they are back on with a new ID of course. It's all about fees for Ebay. Here's how it works. If you complain about a seller that is selling 5 fake autographs items Ebay will cancel their auctions to appease us, but the seller that is selling the 50 or more fake autograph items is left alone. Fees, fees, fees...
shanesis is another bogus seller. and is l&p collectibles coa any good??? i see alot of those coa's around.
RED FLAG RED FLAG... ebay 280040643972 . One day auction, 2 shill bidders, both bidders and seller are brand new to ebay, worst Jeter fake I have ever seen, maybe the same guy is back already after one day?? check this out...
Here's another seller selling a ton of fake autograph items: Signingtime50.....really bad-looking fakes. I also want to thank Kelly and the rest of you guys for supporting and following my lead so that we can work on alerting everyone just how all these guys operate and that we can't depend on Ebay to take care of this.
Very obvious red flag. They have three new Ebay IDs: shalohaI9, luvdachance and bigyankyfan. They are shill bidding on the item from ShalohaI9. The item number is 280040643972. I emailed them already. Hopefully some of you will also so that they know that we are aware of him.
Their other Ebay ID is "Wishbonejohn."
Which means that they now have 4 new Ebay ID's.
I was just in contact with "Live Help" on Ebay about this guy and they were totally useless. I have printed my entire conversation with them.
I just received an email from the original seller of this fake Jeter autographed baseball. Anyone who wants a copy of the email please let me know. You'll find it quite amusing.
Chris, I would love to read what he had to say, jkal42@comcast.net
Here is the response from my5starcollectibles after I told him I knew what he was up to. SHortly after, he was gone. Here you go:
first of all people are bidding on my items on their own free will. Yes I do konw the people that have bid on my items, they were customers, they sometimes buy my items and then resell them on line. There really is not anything I can do. I am sorry you feel there is a scam going on but If I sell items and people buy them and then resell them. Some of the items I have bought for them because I can sell them at card shows that I do. Remember if you do not want to buy any of my items that is fine. I appreciate all the time you have put into this investigation. I dont give hand outs we just sell items and if we have repeat customers then we are lucky. But maybe you should pay attention to what your selling on EBay or buying off of Ebay. thank you for your time.
What a turd.
shalohaI9, luvdachance and bigyankyfan -
This is the same guy from the original auction from this thread. He is selling a fake jeter from 5 star collectibles. I just sent him a nasty gram.
Bigtruck, that is basically the same email he sent me. The guy is full of BS and we know it, and now he knows that we know it. Last night he all-of-a-sudden "ended all of his listing early to the highest bidder." What a scam he was trying to run. Let's everyone keep their eyes out for scam artists like that.
is fansindastands really selling fakes?? i've bought from them before
Sorry my friend, but all that fansindastands has to offer are 100% guaranteed forged signatures.
Yes, seller "Fansindastands" sells ALL fake autograph cards. Why would anyone want to but from that seller, his autographs are obvious fakes. If you bought from this guy get your money back.
has it been proven that fansindastands sells all fakes? the autographs i have bought from him look exactly like the players signatures. i got a derek jeter ball, and the pen looks like it was a non-stop flow. i would think jeter has the hardest signature to copy, making a fake look like it is well, fake.
anyways, thank you for the heads up, before i buy anything else from him. i feel sick to my stomach knowing i was ripped, but i'll take it as a loss and a lesson.

Anything and everything sold by seller "Fanindastands" is a fake. Especially his Jeter's and Jordan autographed baseballs.
That seller "Fanindastands" has also sold a ton of team signed bats, and lately fake ones from the Tigers and Cardinals.
i guess it's good i didn't win everything i have bid on from him. i was a little suspicious of how he has multiple of the same things signed like he's sold 5 bats signed by the Mets, and like 50 balls signed by Jeter. things i have noticed after buying from him.
That's the problem with most of the buyers on Ebay, they don't use any common sense. The first thing any bidder should do is look over their selling history via their feedback. If you notice that a seller has sold 40 autographed Jeter baseballs, and a ton of team-signed bats, etc., that has got to raise a flag. There's one seller on Ebay (Americansportscollectibles) who has sold over 50 Eli/Peyton/Archie Manning autographed footballs. If that doesn't raise a flag then I don't know what does. He's also sold over 50 John Elway autographed footballs, over 50 Ben R. autographed footballs, etc., and yet wannabe collectors keep buying his stuff. Incredible. And that's why for the most part I blame the buyers as much as I do the sellers. Without those people buying their fakes, the sellers don't stay in business.
is there anything i can do to get my money back? how would i report him to ebay, and would he know i was the one who reported him?
What did you buy, how much and how long ago??
Why would you be worried if knows it's you turning him in? You see, that's the mentality that bothers the heck out of me. Here I am, and others, honest people trying to make people aware of the crooks and yet "we are the targets" of ridicule and intimidation. But everyone else is afraid of the "bad guys." I find that mentality incredible. Let me tell you something, the crooks know who am I, etc., and I don't care and they don't scare me. Even Ebay doesn't like me because I expose all of these bad sellers and yet I am the good guy. Thank about that.
i've gotten a jeter ball, a barry bonds helmet, and a chase utley ball.. all within the past 2 months, totalling about $125 not including shipping. i would be worried if he knew it was me, because he can easilly find my address, and you never know what kind of psycho you're dealing with on the internet
That's exactly how they want you to think. Two years ago when I started my investigation I exposed sellers with over 10,000 positive feedback who sold nothing but fake autograph items and they all came after me, threatening me, etc. But I did not let it stop me and now most of them are out of business. I have no sympathy if you think like that, Sir. They want us to be afraid of them. He has $125.00 of your money, you have nothing to show for it and yet you are afraid of him. Does that make any sense to anyone who reads this column?
RIght on brother. They are they people who are wrong. If I lost that kind of money, I would harass them as professional as possible until they changed thier email accout. Just like th ebum who was selling the Jeter ball at the top of this thread...I gave him thge WORST time until he finally changed his accounts over...the last I looked, he was selling jewelry and not fake signatures with bogus hohlgrams. My first ebay purchase was an A-Rod auto photo fro a $20 buy it now...all he sold were superstars for $20. These people want no trouble...the longer they go unnoticed, the better...they offer superb cusotmer service, even giving refunds so that they gain trust and padded positive feedback. Go get them.
fansindastands told me he would refund my money if items do not pass PSA/ DNA. Is it worth it to pay to have them checked out, just to get money back? After paying those fees, I'd barely get anything back.
Send photos of the original auction to PSA's quick option service...it only costs 7 bucks per auction. That will save you a lot of trouble. He is counting on you not sending the items...give it to him.
I was going to offer the same advice, Bigtruck. Way to go. You can put them back up on Ebay for a penny a piece, then submit a PSA/DNA "Quick Opinion" on them. Then email him the results.
Can someone tell me if I bought a fake David Wright autograph? I purchased it a couple of months ago and after seeing the Steiner auto, I feel worried that I may have bought a fake. Link is:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=220012685835
Thanks
How can I check on a ball I see the PSA/DNA. What is that? Please e-mail me at receptionist@savingsabstract if anyone knows about this. I think it is worth $7.00 to find out if this Ryan Howard ball is real.
Pat, what is the item number on Ebay. And here is that link for Quick Opinion:
