Brett Favre Fake Autograph Bust
Michael Van Lanen, who owned All Sports Marketing in Ashwaubenon, was sentenced Thursday to six months in the county jail and serve 100 hours of community service. In addition, he'll spend four years on probation. This was for selling fake Brett Favre autographs.
From what I have read, it says the State Justice Department is the one who did the bust. If they can bust a guy like this, why don't they get known fake dealers that sell on eBay? Since the FBI doesn't do much regarding fake autographs any more, maybe the State Justice Department is the correct agency to handle forgeries?
Does anyone know how the State got involved with this case?

Was this the guy who was selling fakes in the shadow of Lambeau field? If it is, he had fake Favre holograms and everything attached to his bogus merch.
Well it's about something like this happened. The fact Ebay is not going to do anything about this and that's the sad part, especially when they could. But the bad guys know that nothing is going to happen to them as long as Ebay collects their fees. But that doesn't mean that WE can't do something about. WE can all file reports with Ebay about specific auctions. Here's an auction (Item Number 280042933901)I filed a complaint about. That item is a obvious fake Jeter autographed baseball. The key to getting rid of the bad guys is for more of us to submit reports on specific auctions. Too many people have forgotten about "Operation Bullpen" and then there are those to aren't aware of "Operation Bullpen." Now there are a ton of copy cat sellers of fake autograph items on Ebay because they see how easily they can get away with it. I will write more later on this.....
