Jeter Autograph In Person?

This ball is being offered on eBay and the seller claims that it was received in person...any Jeter experts out there? Can you trust sellers that say they get autographs in person?

No, Jeter does not sign sweetsport in person because of his deal with Steiner.

The Jeter fakes are improving in quality - once someone figured the pattern of his loops. This is a complete fake...Jeter would not sign on the sweet spot, and the autos I have seen of his in person are usually more scribbled. It's funny how many people not only sell things like this, but sell them in HUGE quantities (like Fansindastands)numerous fakes all at once. That sholuld be a tip to a new collector.

Here's a really bad Derek Jeter fake. It is from seller jmb_authentics. The item number is 130044705174. Their other autograph items are also fake. I've complained to Ebay about them but so far nothing has been done.

Good point, Bigtruck, a point I've brought up a thousand times. If you see a seller that is selling a ton of Jeters or Arods or Jordans, etc., that has to raise a red flag. A little common sense goes a long way and there's no doubt that the majority of buyers on Ebay do not possess a lot of common sense.

One more comment about seller "Fansindastands." His autograph items are all fakes there is no doubt about that. He's sold fake autographs from every major athlete from every major sport. One of the fake autograph items he sold was a Sandy Koufax fake autographed baseball for $25.00. If you had a Sandy Koufax autographed baseball would you give it up for a paltry $25.00! He's also sold many fake team-signed items. It is hard to believe people bid and buy his garbage. Again, it's the wannabe collectors who buy garbage like that.

Anyone know if this seller, "autographs_extraordinaire"is selling legit autographs?

How did this one pass PSA/DNA? For some reason it doesn't look genuine.

That PSA/DNA certified autograph looks legit and authentic to me. And I've been collecting Derek Jeter since 1992.

I wouldn't buy anything from seller "autographs_extraordinaire." Now here's a prime example of what to do about questioning a seller like "autographs_extraordinaire." Ask him how he was able to acquire so many autographs (although I did notice that they don't sell anything from anmyone major and they do that to avoid detection from me and my friends) from his home in Eunice, LA. And all of his autographs are just a bunch of scribbled garbage.

it looks like what "autographs_extroidonaire" is doing is writing to celebrities and then selling the autographs. a friend of mine and i have been writing to celebrities for years to get autographs. and the picture of MIKE ERUZIONE that this seller has for auction is the same picture i got from writing to him. and i think that would explain the fact he doesn't have any major signatures, because the big names don't usually sign thru mail.

check out the auctions of "chiali2005" i believe every single one is fake. some of the auto'd pictures he has would be amazing to obtain like lebron and kobe

That seller, "Chiali2005" is part of that Asian Ring that I have complained to Ebay about for the past 16 months. Everyone one of their autograph items are FAKES! I have filed a report about this seller to Ebay. Their COA's are from "Star Connection" which are as fake as their autograph items.

chris, you're very knowledgeable. do you have a list of all the sellers who sell fakes? and what do you think about legends of the field? i've bought from them (username is legendsauctionhouse) the item i bought has a COA by "Exclusive Sports and Promotions"

Mr. J-Man, I appreciate the nice comments. I'm not so sure how knowledgable I am, but I do my homework and research. I do not write about anything that I am not 110% sure of. It's taken months of research and connecting the dots to find a lot of these guys. The majority of the bad sellers know each other and there are "rings" of sellers that I have discovered. What really saddens me are the millions of so-called collectors who presently own fake autograph items. Many of them are quite aware of what they own but I guess they like having the "bragging right" of owning a particular autograph even if deep down inside they know it is fake. Then there are others who believe that just because "it is on Ebay" that it must be authentic. The irony of "Ebay" is that it has spawned copycat after copycat of sellers who sell nothing but fake autographed memorabilia.

It is amazing how Ebay does little or no policing on thier site.Ebay knows noone will touch them in sales for a long time and just does not care. With the revenue Ebay makes it could hire persons full time to police this problem.People have talked numerous times on the nitemare of Ebay and Ebay continues to lend a deaf ear.The phoney autographs sold on Ebay only continues to hurt the industry.Ebays back turning on the issue makes them just as bad as the crooked seller or perhaps even worse. The greatest sin is to sit back and do nothing.

Mr. Sportshonesty, well said. Ebay IS part of the problem because they refuse to do much about. Yes, they could do tons more as they have the resources. And they have collectors like you and me directing them to the bad sellers and they still do next to nothing. I'm sure they read this blog, too, which is fine by me, and, they would love for me to go away but I'm not. More later...

I think the best thing we can do is network with each other. Chris and I are trading emails regarding bad sellers...the more people to email them and let them know WE know what is going on, the better chance we have to slow them down - although most DO NOT care. Ebay is their main source of income and 5000 auctions x 25 bucks is more than most of us make in a year. Something I have noticed, and I suspect that it is someone within these threads - is what happened to Baseballdome. SOmeon created multiple user ID's just to harass him and give out his personla information...many times pointing out his fraudulent behavior. The sad part is, he has thousands more positives from idiots who purchase his obvioulsy fake items...what a travesty. Their children will inherit laughable fakes.

i think it is great what happened to baseball dome, except the sad thing is that even after all the negative feedback that told of his fake signatures, he continued to get more buyers and more positive feedback. either people don't look at his feedback, or they don't want to admit that they just thought they bought a real signature of a top star for $15- which is a deal too good to be true.

I can't count the number of times I've complained to Ebay about seller "Baseballdome." The guy has sold a ton of fake autograph cards and yet people keep buying them. And that's why Ebay doesn't boot him because they make fees on all those sales. So in essence Ebay is allowing him to sell fake autographs to buyers.

I also noticed that seller "simemorabilia" is back selling his fake autogrpah items again. It's unbelievable the number of times I have complained to Ebay about this guy but they continue to allow him to sell fake autograph items. Again, it's all about fees.

I just noticed that the fake autograph items from seller "Chiali2005" have been removed by the seller himself. He was probably afraid Ebay was going to suspend him after I emailed him about his fake autograph items.

Dear "all authentic" why cant I trust people who say they get thier autographs in person? Where do you get yours?

At 4:46 AM , Chris said...

Another seller who is selling nothing but fakes is seller "zeke43098." All of his autographed baseballs are definitely fake.

Check out the bad fakes from seller "suprby65." His Jeter is terrible! How could anyone bid on that garbage.

We have several direct contracts with some of the biggest names in sports. We have been dealing direct with hundreds of athletes since 2000. However, ALLAuthentic maitains this blog and is not going after other sellers. This is purely a discussion board and everyone is welcome to reply. If you think you are being targeted by one of the collectors on this blog, then come out with your real name and address their comments. ALLAuthentic has NOTHING to do with targeting any companies or with trying to get people to buy our stuff. There are way more references in this blog to Upper Deck, Steiner, and the other big companies.

Here is an example of someone playing dumb. THis ball was sold by Steiner as a gamer from a Cards/Dodgers playoff game - 160044699425 - after someone bought the ball, they signed it with a forged Pujols signature. The MLB hologram is supposed to prove authenticity, but the sticker and the OCA are only for the baseball, not the auto. If the Auto was certified by Steiner, the selling price would be far more than $140 bucks. Hope the seller is ready to refund some money...

Check out this obvious fake autograph item: 280046868912. This is the reply from the seller when I asked him a question: "We dont care what you have done. Go away."

That reply illustrates the lack of fear of Ebay's Safe Harbour from these bad sellers. They know Ebay doesn't care about the fakes they sell as long as they (Ebay) get their Paypal and Ebay fees.
