Alex Rodriguez & Derek Jeter Signed Baseball
This is an interesting auction that closed for $151.59. It looks like the seller took the picture of the baseball from a helicopter. In the auction it states that all autographed items were either obtained at a private signing, shows, other dealers, or through the mail. It also says that all items come with a COA from North East Sports.
Of course, we can't tell if the signatures are real or not but it is amazing that someone would pay over $100 for a baseball that you can't even see the signatures.

The seller of this item, cavemancandoit99 has sold 15 Pujols signed items in the past two weeks. he says he got them at spring training...sure.
He is an old seller who has resurfaced. He also knows that PSA can't give an opinion on an item this small. I asked him for better pics earlier in the week - nothing.
Anyone who bids on something like this deserves what they get - I mean, who the heck buys something for $150 without even seeing a clear photo of the item? Educate yourselves people....geez.
this looks more like a golf ball then a baseball.looks like its signed in sharpie which is very odd.
just more proof how dangerous buying autographs can be for unexperinced collectors
selling fakes on ebay is so easy even a caveman can do it
jeter_sucks"
...still laughing. Kinda corny, but funny.
lol at jeter.
usually when i sell my items, i'll put it in the front yard and then go on google earth to see my house and just use that picture.
i think thats what the old caveman does, but he's more successful.
on another note, who is tired of hearing about the jeter/ bush/ mantle card?
i just put mine on ebay. maybe i'll buy it back in 4 months for $5 after i sell it for $100+
speaking of pictures of auctions.....i dont remember the sellers exact name but i have a feeling chris may have encounted him before.he is unquie seller because he doesnt post pictures for his memoraiblia.no doubt its gotta be fake because he has a endless supply in massive quanties of everyone
i belive his user id was something like "copow311" or cop something with a couple numbers in it
is anyone famialr with his auctions?
jeter_sucks"
i havent really looked at cavemans auctions but please tell me the coa isnt from "caveman can do it sports"or "cavenmanauthentics"
Yes, this obvious forgery of a Derek Jeter/Alex Rodriguez autographed baseball is from seller "Cavemancandoit99." As a matter of fact, he has another of this baseball up for auction right now on Ebay and it is Ebay Item Number 190087883046. Also, every forgery that he sold a few days ago, are all back up again for bidding on Ebay. I've filed at least a dozen reports to Ebay about seller "Cavemancandoit99" and they refuse to do anything about him. He is selling forgeries from everyone including the newest Boston Red Sox pitcher Daisuke Matsuzake. That auction you have to read (190087882349). This just proves that Ebay is a major part of the problem with the fake autograph industry. They simply refuse to shut all of these guys down.....Chris W.
have been very critical of Ebay on this blog and rightfully so. Many of us own collections both for the uniqueness of owning something special and also for investment purposes. We all hope that the value of our collections increases in value as time marches on. Now for those of us that are involved in the stock market we also hope that the value of our stock increases as time moves on. Hopefully as our stock sits there the SEC is watching over everything preventing fraud, etc. But who the heck is watching Ebay? While these crooks continue to sell their forgeries on Ebay, the value of many collections has dropped due to the rampant fraud being perpetrated on Ebay every day. Eventually Ebay will have to take corrective action to fix this problem or eventually their lack of action will come back to haunt them. How can a company be allowed to profit from the sales of forged autogrpah items. The sales of forged autograph items on Ebay is at epidemic proportions and it is only getting worse. Ebay has become the biggest wholesale source for fake autogrpah items, that then get sold at local card shows and shops. "Ebay, when will you put a stop to all of this? You have the resources to do it and the money to do it. Now please get to work on it!!!"
Chris W.
As always, Chris, well said.
I am one of those people that collects so that my friends don't have to. I love it when I have a party and can put people in the memorabilia room and explain everything in detail (like the Pujols/A-Rod Beckett printing plates that I bought last year - always a conversation piece)
I used to consign stuff for relatives who were cleaning out their basements, etc. but never really went about making money on autograph sales...until I decided to go strictly Cardinals. I was spending too much money trying to diversify my HOF collection (which was delving into the Negro Leagues). I sold about a tenth of my collection on eBay...and man was I disappointed. I mean, I sold a Willie Mays PSA/Say Hey for $125! My Ryan 7 no hitters inscribed ball, $70.
The funny thing was, when I looked at the competition - most were fakes going in the $25-30 range. They were undercutting my legit stuff with fakes. THAT's when I found out about Operation Bullpen. I searched around, found this site - and met Chris. Guys, I am here because I am sick of the bottom feeding scum that taints a great hobby...and business for some people (jeter_sucks).
If I take out 10 people a year, so be it, I am successful. They will forever know that they are being watched. I have a feeling that they think what they do is OK - It's criminal. You will get caught.
That was well said, Bigtruck. For some reason the criminal activity happening on Ebay seems to be an "accepted way of doing business." I find that totally insane!!! The "criminal activity" of course is the selling of forged autographs that seems to be an "accepted way of doing business." What other firm in this country is allowed to make a profit from the sales of fraudulent items? If a brokerage firm on Wall Street is caught doing "insider trading" they are heavily fined. On Ebay there are hundreds of fraudulent items being bought and flipped and yet Ebay does not get fined for allowing that kind of activity. And this is "activity" that I make them aware of on a daily basis and for the most part they ignore my warnings and emails. If a call is made to dispatch about a bank robbery being committed and the local police department fails to act on that call someone is brought on the carpet to find out what happened. I'd like to know what has happened to the hundreds (maybe thousands) of reports that I sent to Ebay that they have ignored. There is something wrong with this picture. Are you listening, Meg......Chris W.
If it seems like Chris and I mention names alot here - it is because we know that eBay and all of the sellers we discuss read this blog. I did a test just to see how many people might read this thing in a week...
Remember my blog that I put in my profile? Last week there were 21 views. I mention that I have a blog - and it goes up to 170+ in 1 week! Even if some people looked twice, 150 hits in a week is a good amount of readers.
We send a message here - a positive one...and we are making a difference out in eBay land - the only place I know of where you can sell used underwear legally and some pervert can buy it under a silly username like scratchnsniff#2.
I used to collect baseball cards until I realized that I was paying $100 a box for one potential hit. Usually the hit was an auto of an unknown rookie drafted in the 50th round, or a bat chip from Marcus Giles. For my money, $100 can buy a Jim Edmonds signed World Series ball or a Ray Lankford game used bat..something more adult - less nerdy. Though some might say having signed photos of other men on my wall is a little fruity.
No knock on card collecting, someone mentioned that they are dealing with fakes too - cut sigs, fake patch cards, fake buybacks, re-touching vintage cards, etc. We are all in this very public forum for one reason - to clean up to sports memorabila hobby. Sorry about the rant guys. Peace.
the market online is def. tainted and it spills over to the retail side too.buyers know they can get it cheaper on ebay and when legit sellers have to lower there prices a little because of the fakes its not good for the whole business side because it affects the retail outlets where honest people make a honest living.big truck was right about selling his collection at such a cheap price.theres lots of atheltes its not worht even selling because of this simple fact.then you got guys like chris morales trying to say a 6 inscb bat big stick bat for a few hundere bucks was signed by mickey mantle or punk ass pjuice trying to claim to be bodyguards or high profile athletes and also a cop while he sells fakes and post pictures of b.c. sports as his store or fans in the stands with his private 1 day sunday auctions of team signed stuff or caveman taking photos of his items from mount everest or 2004sendoid2004 asking to be on pre ceritfed memorabila the whole picture just sucks and needs a lot of work
jeter_sucks
Bigtruck and Jeter_Sucks, you guys are right on the money. Not only has Ebay become the largest wholesale source for forged autograph items, it has also become a breeding ground of sellers of those same forged items. Yes, Ebay has become a breeding ground for all of this fraudulent activity and unfortunately it has become a "accepted way of business" on Ebay. Is that shameful or what!!! I could understand if the crooks on Ebay were selling their forged autograph items without Ebay's knowledge, but when true collectors like us are telling them about these crooks and they do nothing about it, that makes Ebay 50% of the problem. When their lack of action allows this fraudulent activity to continue then we hold them responsible for their lack of action. Here's an example. And this is just one of hundreds of examples. Seller "Dqbean252" is a known seller of forgeries on Ebay. Via their own pre-qualified authenticator (PSA/Quick Opinion) I proved that seller "Dqbean252" was (and still is) selling forgeries of NY Mets third-baseman David Wright. So Ebay removes that one auction. But that seller had numerous other identical forged David Wright autograph items. Why didn't Ebay also cancel those auctions? And as of today that seller is still selling forged David Wright autograph items. Another seller named "Prestigesigs." I proved to Ebay that they were selling fake Dwayne Wade autograph items. They cancelled the one auction but they still allow them to sell their other fake Dwayne Wade autograph items including numerous forged autographed basketballs. Hey, Meg, if you are reading this maybe you could explain to me why you refuse to take action against these bad sellers......Chris W.
Hey guys, below is an email I received from BC Sports:
We just looked at the photos you are talking about and the one on the left does in fact appear to be from one of our store locations. However, we do not believe the one on the left is. If you look closely at the one of the right, you can see our logo on the price tags of many of the items. Please let us know if you have any further questions or if we can be of any further assisitance.
Thanks!
Just proves that seller "Pjuice1757" does not own a sports store.
Chris W.
ATTN: JEFF STOVALL - Pjuice1757 eBay ID...
Time is running out. Your stupid Tiger Woods auctions are about to come to a close - finally. Your opportunistic forgery operation and shill bidding/bid retraction operation have been discovered. You have stolen photos of a memorabilia store and used them as if they were yours. YOu tell people that you are a cop...
Any other crimes you would like to commit publicly? Loser.
hey - take a look at this one:
270095638756
he is selling a Pujols, Carpenter and Edmonds lot - perfectly authentic. Nice lot, right?
Now, look at his other items - two more signed Pujols balls (these are shaky and not authentic) with two different fairy tales about how he acquired them. This is a situation where a seller is being greedy. He has some legit stuff, but he decides to forge a few to mix in with his authentic lots so that he can trick customers into believing that they are all real.
I sent him a nasty gram. Guys, all it takes is a trip to Auick Opinion and they are removed. I bet someone buys them. Ahhh, stupidity.
Nice Cardinals Signed Jersey for Sale see #180092350599
Has anyone seen this Pujols signed ball #190088967871 supposed to be number 5/25 from Steiner? Could this be a regular Steiner Pujols ball with this added since the COA just says Albert Pujols MLB Baseball and not a Limited Edition.
I have a Limited addition Pujols ball from Steiner and the COA from Steiner says Albert Pujols Signed Baseball Limited Edition of 55. I was just wondering since I never saw this offered from Steiner.
ALBERT BALL HAS STEINER COA AND LIMTIED EDTION LASER PRINTED ON THE BALL.THIS COULD OF BEEN DONE TO THE BALLS BEFORE OR AFTER ALBERT SIGNED THEM.IF YOUR ASKING DID ALBERT HAND NUMBER THE EDTION 5/25 AND DO THAT ON EACH BASEBALL??I WASNT THERE SO ITS JUST MY GUESS BUT A WELL EDUCATED ONE THAT ALBERT PROBALY DIDNT NUMBER THE BALLS.A TRUE LIMITED EDTION HAS THE NUMBERING DONE BY THE ATHLETE NOT THE PROMOTER.LOTS OF PROMOTERS DO THIS AND THEY FEEL THERE DOING NOTHING WRONG.IN MY OPINION A PROMOTER WRITING ON A AUTOGRAPHED ITEM HURTS THE VAULE BUT IM SURE THERES A LOT OF OTHER COMPAINES THAT WILL ARGUE THAT.IM SURE ALL AUTHENTIC HAS NUMBERED A LIMITED EDTION BEFORE
jeter_sucks""
also while on the topic of so called limited edtions theres a company which is one of ebay bigger sellers i think there called "legends of the field" or "legends auction house"and they buy direct from mounted steiner etc etc and hand numbered the items.for example they might buy 18 peyton manning fullsize helmet and below the colt logo hand number each helmet 3/18,4/18 etc etc now the helmets are signed a dime a dozen and theres no inscb on the item so someone tell me what makes this item worth more???its kinda shady i think but if you ask legends they will jump all over you saying "this is very" rare "one of a kind"
jeter_sucks"
checkout this seller "cop311pow"
this person has sold was appears to be 1000's of fakes.theres no way to really know for sure because this person doesnt put any pictures in his listings of his items but has huge inventory of signed items.after the superbowl he listed at the same time 23 peyton manning 8x10s at a buy it now of 29.99.is there something ebay can do??he doesnr show a picture so theres no example to look at.i think this is one of the smarest crooks weve talked about on here to date.i know ebay says the highely recomend sellers of memorabilia show good clear pictures of there items but is it a requirment to use a picture??
jeter_sucks"
Hey, Jeter_Sucks, there's nothing Ebay can do about a situation like that (although they don't do much about anything else either). You have to be a moron to even consider bidding or buying an autograph item that you can't even see. The one thing that Ebay could do is ask the seller "Where and how you do acquire all of your autograph items?" But, of course, they won't do that since they are making money on those items. And after checking that seller's (Cop311pow) feedback I did notice that he doesn't ship much of what he sells. Their feedback is terrible. I'll have to go through my old notes because I do recognize that Ebay ID from a long time ago. I will file a report with Ebay about this seller but I doubt if anything will come of it....Chris W.
i doubt they will do anything.this guys old school been doing it for so long.most of these guys get shut down after so long and its rare you see a crook last this long on the same i.d. but like i said i think he is very smart the way he does it.another thing is the idoits that buy his items arent very bright to start with so im assuming they think there item is really hand signed by the athlete so theres very little bad feedback on him reguarding fakes.but to make one thing clear having great feedback doesnt mean your selling real items it just means you ship fast and ship what you shown in the picture.if the buyer thought the item was fake from the go there just not going to bid on it
allmost every seller menotioned in this blog is or was a powerseller at one point usally with pretty good feedback
jeter_sucks"
Good point, Jeter_Sucks. The majority of the bad sellers that we have exposed for selling forgeries are or have been a "Power Seller." Being a so-called "Powerseller" on Ebay means absolutely nothing at all. All it means is that last month I sold 200 boxes of toothpicks and I shipped them to the buyer quickly. For the crooks who have the "Powerseller" title (and Ebay should be ashamed of this) all it means is that Ebay allowed them to sell a high volume of forged autographs and they shipped those forged autographs quickly. That's all it means. Do not be impressed by the "Powerseller" status. For those honest sellers who own the "Powerseller" status I apologize, but that's the way I feel, and it's Ebay's fault that I feel that way. Seller "Americansportscollectibles" was a "Powerseller." Seller "Baseballdome" was a "Powerseller." Seller "Fansindastands" is a "Powerseller." Seller "Pjuice1757" is a "Powerseller." Seller "Onlinesportsnmore" was a "Powerseller." These sellers all sold forgeries. What does that say about Ebay? Well it says alot and none of it is good. Ebay, isn't time you started cleaning up?
Chris W.
Bigtruck, great point about those sellers who mix legitimate autograph items with forgeries. A common occurence on Ebay that buyers fall for. That seller you mentioned who has since pulled those two Albert Pujols fakes also has up a very questionable David Wright autograph item. Great catch on that seller....Chris W.
also it hink ebay should change the way powerseller status is shown.theres 5 different powerseller levels but it only shows a seller is a powerseller not which level he is
different levels are
bronze at least $1000 per month
silver at least $5000 per month
gold at least $10000 per month
platium at least $25000 per month
titanium at least$150000 per month
im a platium level and very proud to be at that high a volume staus within the online community.i think if it pointed out your level it would speak volumes as to your repuation
i seriously doubt theres any crooks selling t ons of fake at my level or even just gold.as they way it is setup up now the powerseller tag doesnt mean that much.i also think ebay should stiffen there powerseller requirments as far as the number of infractions and removeles a powerseller should have
how come fansinthestands is still a ebay powerseller after getting all his auctions removed and probaly isnt allowed to sell memorabilia on that id anymore??
jeter_sucks"
You make an excellent point, Jeter_Sucks. The honest sellers on Ebay should be proud of their "Powerseller" status, but unfortunately that particular status has been a bit tainted by Ebay's allowance of these bad sellers to continue selling their forgeries. I really want the following point to stick in everyone’s head. Where else can crooks openly sell their fraudulent autograph items without fear of repercussion for the most part? If I was the CEO of a company in which I was making a huge amount of money partly from the sales of forged autograph items I'd be the first one to ask "What the heck is going on here!!!???" The problem is that Ebay got off too easy following "Operation Bullpen" and it set a bad precedent and now huge numbers of sellers of forged autograph items are now making a ton of money (with a huge profit margin!!!) from those sales. And in turn Ebay is making a huge commission on every one of those sales. I find it disgraceful.....Chris W.
Whoever posted this item:

Nice job. This an an obviously fake Cardinals Signed WS Jersey. Everyone knows by now that Albert only signs jerseys for family and teammates. NOT EVEN FOR HIS FOUNDATION. His signature is the least of my concerns on this piece for fraud.
It appears that these people are passing around a pen to thier buddies so that each signature has a different striation of handwriting - even though the sigs are not close to being correct. If this were real, I would drop a few grand on it...because of the unlikely chance that you get Albert to sign it...and the rest of the guys for that matter.
Because we all know that when you present a jersey and a pen to each individual on the whole team while they are racing to get on the bus, to dinner, etc. They are ALL more than willing to put pen to jersey for some fruitcake in short shorts, a fanny pack and a hawaiian shirt. Likely. Whoever gets this deserves the poop stain it will create wherever it gets mounted.
It belongs in the trash. What a waste of a good jersey.
Pujols now signs jerseys for Upper Deck limited to 105 of the World Series jersey.
We all know about the garbage that Authentic-Graph2 was selling. They had all of those suspicious GAI Authenticated items. They no longer sell under their three aliases. But I did discover a Ebay Seller named "17Simon" who happens to be selling Authentic-Graph items. What I find really suspicious and you can check it out for yourself in Ebay Item Number 280087461290. It is interesting that she inserts into her auction description "THIS FOOTBALL IS GUARANTEED 100% TO PASS GLOBAL AUTHENTICATION SO BID WITH CONFIDENCE!" That statement really intrigues me! Why not include PSA in that statement? And like we have always written here, how did that Authentic-Graph group have over 1,000 items authenticated by GAI. Before GAI authenticated their autograph items PSA's "Quick Opinion" failed them all before GAI authenticated them. And seller "17Simon" just happens to be from the state of MD just like the Authentic-Graph group was.....Chris W.
....and are the UD Jerseys going for $200?...
The Pujols signed World Series jerseys from Upper Deck are $1,099.00 plus shipping limited to 105.
Right, and they also have some baseballs.
Albert has signed VERY limited quantities of jerseys and bats for ESP a few years ago. Before they were booted from eBay, ESP was selling them for $2200.
Just the fact that there are only 105 of the Jerseys available should tell you that Albert is not in the habit of signing a jersey for the average joe. He does a couple of signings a year - last year, GAI was the main authenticator for one private signing. YOu can see examples of this from seller pujolsno1fan - he has a few that he is selling for $300.
Notice that the signature on the jersey (UDA) is abbreviated and the sig on the baseball is full.
I am very suprised that he used that particular signature for a signing...must have come at a premium (only 55 WS balls).
For Steiner and Mounted, he used his crappy signature that he signs at the ballpark (if you are VERY lucky). at the winter Warm Up in St. Louis, it was $150 for any ball or photo (nothing else) he was singing WS baseballs too - and even insrcibed a few.
I don't think Albert is a jerk for limiting his signing...you should see the commotion he causes at his restaraunt here. Total mob scene. Must be nice. He is the Jordan of baseball - I think the value of his signature is surpassing Jeter's at this point. Sorry Chris!
hey pjuice, don't drop the soap homey!!
i wonder if the IRS would be interested in the criminal enterprises run by pjuice, fansindastands, and the rest of the bunch.
with tax day approaching, i hope these guys were honest!
Honesty is not in the vocabulary of these people...they are what I refer to as the "turd circuit".
I just got through looking at the new Coach's Corner auction listings that were so heavily promoted in the newest SCD.
I saw some of the worst fakes I have ever come across. Period. Some were authenticated by Christopher Morales, others were unauthenticated.
The forgeries were so bad, it is criminal. I have said this, and it needs repeating - AUCTION HOUSES are in some ways worse than eBay with the authentication and blanket letters. Some are good, Heritage, Hunt, H&S...but not Coach's Corner. Shady beyond belief.
hey bigtruck, i just got the new Tuff Stuff mag, and there is a auction coverage of your buddies at Coach's Corner. "blah blah blah sold some Ruth items, a Beatles signed White Album, and a check signed by Al Capone"
but also, they are located near me. who woulda knew?
maybe they have a store or something i could check out someday
I see our buddy Ebay Seller "Pjuice1757" just put up another fake Tiger Woods autographed golf ball (Item Number 230100468219). Just proves Ebay only cares about fees and commissions. Disgraceful!!!
Chris W.
Looks like Ebay really doesn't care about the intergrity of the sports memorabilia industry. They are still allowing sellers like Ebay Seller "Alwayz_Rackin05" to continue selling their fake autographed team signed football helmets. Check out Ebay Item Numbers 330095909412, 330095906585 and 330095909913. They have sold multiples of each of those team signed footballs. Shame on Ebay and shame on seller "Alwayz_Rackin05."
Chris W.
seller "17Simon" that chris is talking about has sold tons of stuff. Reggie White in quantity(at 115.00) Ryan Howard in quantity. How can we get him off here. What did happen to authentic-graph2?
back to seller simon. have you ever seen a worse peyton autograph. not even close. item 280087854304
I noticed that seller "Favoritessc" just put up his 10th Florida Gators team-signed football helmet. Wow, he really gets around. He's also sold 5 Indy. Colts teamp-signed helmets, 3 Bears team-signed helmets, 2 NO Saints team-signed helmets, 2 Ohio Buckeyes team-signed helmets, 3 SD Chargers team-signed helmets, etc. Amazing how he gets all of these team-signed autograph helmets. Are they authentic? No!
Chris W.
good catch on the peyton.thats pretty bad.peyton is the most forged nfl signature on ebay right now so buyer beware.you could steal strike a deal for a older item of his pre-sbxli but if your looking to purchase anything superbowl related be prepared to spend some real money.theres no such thing as a cheap peyton signed anything.all those sbxli minis on ebay are fake.get real even if they were real they would still go high becasue of the peyton manning collectors with good knowledge would see its real, like jordan when a no uda item thats real gets put on ebay the real jordan collectors know its real and it goes very high
tell me where you can buy a peyton manning mini helmet for 50 bucks that has a authentic signature?the stories keep getting faker then the actual memorabilia,i guess everybody works in the lockerooms or is private bodyguard for these guys.some work in law enforcement, some steal photos of other peoples stores or websites, some think a CSI means you know what mantles sig looks like, some dont even send you your fake stuff and even caveman are selling fake stuff on ebay but the bidders keep bidding and the buyers keep buying.every seller that gets booted 3 more pop up the next day.these people are like the guys from the matchstick men just simple conartist preying on weak poeple like the ones bying jordan basketballs for 80 bucks.they keep posting listings because people keep buying.if nobody bought the clear cut fakes we see everyday nobody would be wasting there time selliung them but instead you got crooks on here that probaly got real jobs but Are making there house and car payments off your hard earned money or taking that 2 week trip to jamiaca was all on you and your fake mantle 6 inscb bat
jeter_sucks"
chris you said that its pretty sad that your entire favorite sellers list is nothing but the crooks that sell fakes or have sold fakes.
you should post that list up here so others that dont read the blog much or even people that may have bought a item a long time ago from the same seller will know there item is fake.the more we can get out to the collectors the better.esp since so many of these punks are powersellers making a good living off of being thiefs
jeter_sucks"
I have been finding out alot this week. I am noticing people that have put up auctions for things that would normally go for hundreds of dollars. They faes are so terrible that they are lucky to get $100...
Guys, it is tax season. Like Christmas, Superbowl and the World Series...and even the Olympics, these people are opportunistic. When I saw those Anna Nicole baseballs after she died, I got sick to my stomach. Same thing with Darry Kile here. At every show, there are at least two guys who have numerous Kile items. They are trash.
thats another thing truck brought up is shows.dont think becasue your buying a item face to face with a guy at a show that its real.i can remember serval times i have set up at shows and i allways walk the floor to she what everybody else is selling and theres allways at least one vendor that has mostly fakes for sell allways setup next to another vendor with real items.one time the signatures were so bad i had to ask the seller or better yet tell him that his stuff is fake.his response was'I BOUGHT IT OFF EBAY AND IT CAME WITH A COA"and i honestly belive this person doesnt realize they were garbage that he bought.he simply just bought items he thought were real to sell at shows.chris you would of been laughing at his jeter baseball!!it was the worst jeter i ever saw and it came with a coa from one of ebays most notrious sellers of fake"usa4nate" who is no longer a ebay seller(at least under that user id)
jeter_sucks"
Jeter -
They know that what they have is probably fake. They ask questions to me like.."Oh, I guess you are an expert, huh.?"
To which I reply, "It doesn;t trake an expert to realize that what you have is fake."
They get defensive because either they knew it was a fake to begin with, or because they are embarassed that they got conned. OR because they want to look like they thought they were really selling a good piece.
Nowadays, I just walk up to the table, and start pointing and laughing at thier stuff...I should tape it and put it on YOutube. The best is when another dealer backs me up...rarely happens though. Most dealers sell fakes and they don't want to stir up too much stuff. The amount of dealers at shows in St. Louis that sell exclusively legit merchandise is 50/50. Some just sell junk...but there are a few that I can rely on.
Guys,
Here is a great site for Pujols game used bats...www.birtdbats.com
Very useful information.
OK - I HAVE FOUND THE WORST FAKE OF THE WEEK...
Ebay item # 320090289975
Read the description for a good laugh.
Bigtruck,
That is one of the worst forgeries I have ever seen. Wow, it's not even close. The A is just laughable. He also has a Diasuke Matsuzaka that's obviously signed by the same person. I reported both.
-BC
check out this seller, jfgauctions, looks like he's ripping off images from Steiner and passing them off as his own. He's got a ton of stuff up now.

Before I comment on anything else tonight I must make a comment about an old bad seller named "USA4NATE." I can't believe you brought up his name, Jeter_Sucks. That was great! "USA4NATE" was the absolute first bad seller that I ever reported to Ebay and I had him eventually booted off Ebay. He used sell autographs of everyone in threes. In other words, he would sell a fake Jeter autographed bat, baseball and cap. He would do that with every athlete that he sold forgeries of. I will write more later, especially about that Ebay Item Number 320090289975 that Bigtruck found. As a matter of fact, I already emailed the seller (Estatesdirect) and wrote him "That you crack me up and that I forwarded your auction to The Pujols Family Foundation." That fake Pujols is just plain horrible.....Chris W.
wow chris its a small world.i used to watch that guy too because he allways seem to be selling some of the same players i was.i often search my players of interest to see what others are selling or to see if someone copied my signing photos.
i remember usa4nate because he allways had a picture of some athlete signing something but it was never the same item he was selling and he did put auctions up in clusters with serval of same guy at one time.i dont have him on my favorite sellers list anymore but if im not mistaken he was a 3000 something rating i think its been a long time but to me hes like the king pen because he had to be selling 10-20 k a month for a year
wonder how many usa4nate items are sitting on someones fireplace mantle right now or how much u wanna bet he sells under a different name
jeter_sucks"
also to comment of the bad albert p ball i got a kick out of the item desc. pay attention to the last sentence
"""" Every item that I sell I have obtained personally with no exceptions. No middleman, just hard work and some patience on my part waiting around at hotels, stadiums, ballparks, spring training sites, training camps, practices, etc. Forgery is a federal crime and I hope the feds crack down on all the forgers that exist on ebay and anywhere else on the planet for that matter. With that being said let the good times begin!!"""
now if that doesnt crack you up i dont know what will.there was another seller i bet chris knows from back in the day this guy sold nothing but fakes and his ebay store was named something from the bible and in each of his auction he had a small part where he witnessed to you and said jesus saves.i think it was called"in his name sports" or something close to it.everything was fake esp the signed trading cards
that guy will probaly burn in hell for that one

After seeing item #320090289975 and #290091660608 I believe that Pujols has changed the way he signs again, because these guys say they are Sick of seeing and worrying about fake autographs on ebay, and realsignaturez offers A refund of 150% of the final auction price will be given to the buyer if this item is EVER proven not authentic, so they have to be real. What do you think?
I would bet a week's pay that seller "Favoritessc" is an old seller that I caught in the past. I will find out eventually who he was.....Chris W.
Hey, Jeter_Sucks, try to find a way to get in touch with me. I don't want to post my email here but I have info that you will be interested in.....Chris W.
Hey, Jeter_Sucks, check out the photograph in Ebay Item Number 300083646579. Who does that remind you of? I finally put 2 + 2 together.....Chris W.
yeah that brings back usa4nate memories on that chris.you keep records of this stuff do you happen to know if usa4nate was a seller out of califorina like this joker.that jeter wasnt that bad compared to what weve seen off this site.i guess it felt better because its wasnt sweet spot and it was signed upside down verus logo.ive looked at enough jeters to know you can judge most of them by counting all the loops in the signature,im not going to get into to much detail because i know sendoid2004 and a few other crooks read this and the last thing i want to do is educate there dumbass's.he seems to be selling lots of scrubs which is kinda odd and thats what i would expect from a seller of authentic memorabilia that getsd it all in person but check his feedback ohh soooo many team signed football helmets.
jeter_sucks"
Jeter_Sucks, let's just say that if 2 + 2 = 4, then we hit the nail right on the head. That photograph and something else that I can't reveal here brought me to that conclusion. Yes, USA4NATE was out of California, too. The thing is if you hadn't brought up USA4NATE in this blog I probably wouldn't have figured this out. And to think that Ebay let him back on. Incredible!!!

Jack Johnson is one sarcastic fella. I like it.
Item 290091660608 was removed after we laughed him away.
The GAI authenticated ball in this auction 320089296346 I have determined to be authentic - even though I do not like what goes on at GAI. Based on the UDA Pujols signature, they either got this one right, or were witnesses at a paid signing. This guy has had this same ball on for at least a month (only $200) and nobody has bought it...tells you something about GAI and their fan base.
Take a look at this one 290091328621 Pujols game used hat/signed. Zero feedback. I have seen this type of item at auction before, usually with paperwork from PFF, ARF (Larussa) or the Cardinals.
The hat itself might be good, the initials are his kids AJ, and Isabell - and his wife Deidre...but something looks funny with the signature. An item like this should already have a bid...keep an eye on it.
This item was most likely purchased from eBay seller beachcardsjax - I have seen TONS of them listed and purchased and resold by other sellers...it is a pretty good rendition, but not genuine. A local seller told me at a show that they have a stack of these that were rejected by JSA. Nobody has Pujols sigs in quantity with that nice of a signature without a hologram from Steiner, Mounted or PFF.
180092728639 says he got this ball signed at spring training. However, if you look at the COA, it says that it was originally purchased fro $34.00 - sounds like an eBay sale to me. Who pays $34 for Pujols?
270096220412 primetimesportsinc
selling a terrible WBC jersey with Ortiz, Ramirez and Reyes - and Pujols. Nobody bought it last week.
320089199477 Club Level COA - one of the few legit Albet items up right now.
USA4Nate = Garbage. Generations of children will pass the trash.
Hey all, been reading this blog for awhile, but haven't posted yet. I had also kept tabs on certain sellers for a time, but got kind of burnt out.
I see someone mentioned jfgauctions. I've followed their activities for a while, and can tell you that they have also been known as jongham69 and sportsfanpalace. jongham69 has a very interesting 'last feedback' you might like to see...
Those accounts sold some of the crappiest forgeries I've ever seen. Of course the dope can't spell 'memorabilia' properly, either.
Seems like he's using stock pics at the moment, as was pointed out, though.
Jack Johnson -
Forgot to address item 290091660608
Very well could be authentic. I have seen Pujols sigs like that before...not saying it's good, not saying it's bad. Looks hurried, but has characteristics of an authentic sig.
What I don't understand about jfgauctions is that the people who reciev the items say nothing in feedback about a difference in appearance of the autograph.
This person is obvioulsy foreign, and has no intention of replying to my questions about "getting the ball pictured" or "getting the Steiner COA with the pictured Steiner item".
These crooks will find new wasys every day to negotiate eBay's terrible security system. Chris is absolutely right, all they care about are fees...
This 'stock photo'-type stuff is somewhat of a change of pace for jfgauctions; he used to show 'his' item, and they were absolutely horrific. The Pujols he used to picture was a thing to behold!
If he is still selling the same crap (hard to know now unless one actually buys and sees it), then I wouldn't be surprised if he does start getting negs for selling different items from those pictured. Not a certainty, but it could well happen.
Hello to all! I am pretty new to autographs and was thinking of picking up 2 items from seller "bigmack662575" the higher priced one was a Bruce Sutter signed baseball for my HOF collection (item # 260086678241). When I emailed the seller about thier authenticity guarentee, they came back with a real pissy attitude saying they get everything in person.... anyways, I send the item number to PSA's quick opinon and I get a "likely not genuine" response in thier email to me. I email "bigmack" about this and he says PSA is full O Crap and that they weren't there when the ball was signed and if they know so much why don't they say "genuine" or "not genuine".... I admit if PSA is going to charge me for thier opinon, don't put "likely" in the reply. Whadda ya'll think????
quick opinion is just as it is.. a quick opinion. to do a better review, they need to see it in person where they look at it under a special machine (i think). to see things they can't look at with just a picture. therefore, they will tell you it is likely not genuine because it didn't pass their visual test.
i'm not 100% certain on what i just told you, so i hope somebody can back me up on this with a better answer
"LIKELY NOT GENUINE" MEANS THAT IT IS LIKELY TO NOT PASS IT IT WAS SENT IN TO PSA
From what I can see Ebay is doing less and less these days about the sellers of forged autograph items on their auction site. They are allowing sellers like Alwayz_Rackin05, Favoritessc, Primetimesportsinc, Fenway620, Jmarketplace, Pjuice1757, Prestigesigs, and Dqbean252 to continue to sell their fake autograph items. Shame on Ebay.
Chris W.
By the way, I have to agree with Bigtruck. Albert Pujols is probably a little more popular with collectors than Jeter right now and his autographs are valued more than Jeter's. Over the years Jeter has probably signed over 30,000 authenticated autographs. One of these days maybe we can all write about our collections as opposed to writing about these jerks who continue to sell forged autograph items. And maybe, just maybe, Ebay will stop giving licenses to those bad sellers to sell their forgeries....Chris W.
heres a good example of what happens when you try to act like a memorabilia dealer when your not one.this guy "sportstarsrus" sells many many authentic items but the problem is he buys everything off of ebay and resells it.the problem is if your not a real dealer your likely to make lots of purchasing mistakes because you dont know where to buy from
this guy has 3 fake footballs of farve, bettis and bush while most evrything i looked at looked good but check his feedback and you see he has bought from LOTS OF THE SELLERS WE TALK ABOUT HERE ALL TIME TIME like fansinstands,2004senoid2004,pjuice etc
folks its all about the dealer.thats what it all boils down to.if your making not some but all of your purcahses from the right company you have nothing to worry about.buying from this guy is what i call a 'THIRD PARTY" is risky
dont you want your dealer to tell you when and where you item was signed??some of these guys cant even guess what year it was signed.i see a bigger increase of "mom and pops"sellers on ebay that tri to resell a little bit on the side which in my mind only makes ebay even more dangerous
jeter_sucks
You're exactly right, Jeter-Sucks, and that's why I say that Ebay has become the biggest wholesale source of forged autograph items. We are seeing the resale of those forged items being sold by the bad sellers from Ebay. Ebay is making a mint off of the sales, resales and re-resales of those forged items. Ebay is only interested in a few things. Making money and making enough money to keep the stock price up. Much of that money is tainted, of course, because much of that money is derived from the sales of forged autograph items. And Ebay can't deny it nor can they defend their actions, or I should say "lack of action." These bad sellers are blatantly selling forged autograph items on Ebay without fear of suspension, fines, etc. As a matter of fact, it's incredible the number of bad sellers who were forced to stop selling that Ebay allowed back on. I find that astonishing. Shame on you, Ebay.
Chris W.
To the person who was asking about seller: bigmack662575. I have purchased several items from him. I bought an Al Hrabosky signed photo and an Anthony Reyes WS photo. I can only support his Cardinal items, but I am certain that they are genuine. What items are you sending to PSA?
I think that the sellers of the good items get upset when they are questioned about authenticity. There are so many bad sellers out there, that it is a challenge to get a good price on a non-authenticated signature.
I am not even sure about the quick opinion anymore...I sent one on a Sunday night at 9pm, and got a response around midnight! It seems like they are having the items sent home or something.
Again - I believe bigmack662575 is selling legit Cardinals items. Most everything he sells is local to St. Louis, as he is from Southern Illinios - just outside the STL city limits. When I ask him where he got certain items, he never hesitates to tell me.
Until I find out othewise, I will stand behind his products. Also something to consider...he is a St. Louis guy and I have never seen him sell a Pujols item. If he was a dealer of fakes, he would go after the easiest signature to forge and the highest dollar player...AP, not Danny Cox, Neil Fiala and Al Hrabosky. Marinate on that for a while and get back to me.
Oh yeah, Jeter_Sucks...I am going to refer to you as JS from now on. I type enough as it is. Also, I wanted to add that your posts really add to the quality of this blog, ans I am glad that you decided to stay on.
thanks truck
checkout this new seller of fakes
#320091002587
his lebron is bad and checkout his montana, young rice ball.joes isnt that bad but the steve young is extremly bad.im good with all there autos and know there cost.next weekend out on the west coast theres a 49ers show with all 3 attending and im sure public price for a ticket on a ball for the 3 would set you back 400-500 bucks but not on ebay
you can find anything you want n ebay right??
i have a feeling chris may know this guy as one he might of kicked off all coas come from sportsworld plus and im sure hes just testing the water with 3 auctions and in a few weeks 10 then 20 then 50
keep your eye on him
jeter_sucks"
JS, you are right. I am very confident that seller "Pattsthesteveman" is an old Ebay seller. And you're correct in the fact that they are just testing the waters to see if anyone notices him. His Jordan/James autographed basketball is a obvious fake. I already emailed him a question about his items.....Chris W.
Hey - check out this stupid auction: 220088802492 the seller, igotzgraphs is obviously shill bidding on this item. I mean, AR is a stud and all - but I just bought one of these last night for a whopping $30. This one is going for $122? WTF? I have been suspicion of this seller for a while now, and this is even more reason to put him/her under the microscope...For Pete's sake, look at the photo. YOU CAN'T EVEN SEE THE AUTOGRAPH!
Hello all, I am wanting some comments on ebay item #19009110059.Looks like a early Pujols auto and LOA from Cardinals Care looks good.Just wondering if I should bid or pass on this one?
opps thats item#190091100590
Item 190091100590. Genuine.
The Cardinals LOA doesn't lie - just be careful of the bats that come with these letters. SOmethime Game used bats have characteristics that stray from the norm of some players.
While Albert's sig has changed over the years, Matt Morris's has not. $250 is a good price on an early Pujols sig on a rookie - year All-Star ball.
Found a new joke seller user id "takeittothehouse2006" Selling cutler, vyoung bush footballs for 20-25.00 bucks a pop and quantity if you look at his auctions. lets run this punk.
I HAVE HAD A COUPLE OF ITEMS COME BACK FROM PSA/DNA. THEY FAILED TO PASS AND I OBAINED THEM IN PERSON HOW DO I GO ABOUT GETTING THEM AUTHENICATED, THEY ARE VERY HARSH TO PEOPLE WHO GET AUTOS IN PERSON BECAUSE THE SIGNATURE VARIES.
