Florida Gators Team Signed Helmet?

Team signed helmets are very hard to come by and for promoters they usually aren't very profitable because after you pay for all the individual signatures your cost in item is so great that it is hard to make a profit. In this auction, the seller is claiming that he got all of the autographs himself -- which is possible.

In the auction, the seller says that he obtains all autographs in person at hotels, games, special events, and airports. there are a lot of people that do this so when someone claims they get autographs in this fashion, it could be true.

This is normally called getting an autograph through a "runner", which was very popular a few years ago but since all the athletes know that their autographs are worth money and that people sell things on eBay every day, most athletes have stopped signing in public.

This forged Florida Gators signed football helmet comes from seller "Alwayz_Rackin05." During the past two months this seller has sold on Ebay nine forged Florida Gators team-signed helmets; five forged Indy Colts team-signed helmets; three Chicago Bears teamk-signed helmets; two NO Saints team-signed helmets; two Ohio Buckeyes team-signed helmets and three SD Chargers team-signed helemts. He claims to get them all himself. A little while back I did have one of his autograph items of Ladainian Tomlinson checked by "Quick Opinion" and the result (Of Course) was "Likely Not Genuine." Just think of this folks, this is the tenth fake Florida Gators team-signed helmet being sold by seller "Alwayz_Rackin05" on Ebay. Ebay seems to like the fees and commissions generated by this seller even though they are fakes. Shame on both parties (Alwayz_Rackin05 and Ebay).

well i dont know much about florida gators current athletes signatutes to even comment on the helmet but i do know from what chris says on the volume of the team signed helmets is very odd.true if you lived in gainesville esp a student you could probaly rack up serval of these in a year.i know most kids in school like signing autographs because they think its cool and this is like being famous to them or something and plus guys like me arent allowed to wispher sweet things in there ears about how much money there gonna get from this one day but,the big but look at this sellers large vareity of team signed helmets.he has all the key popular teams and serval of them??how did that happen?even if one of the teams traveled to his area how did he get sooo many of the same item?many runners use kids these days to get there signaature.often times this is a father and son/daughter tag team.what kelly said is true many dont like signing for this reason but most do.who wants to be a dick to there fans??some promoters like to think there 6 digit excsluives retire there ahtletes pens but not usally the case
i would use extreme caution buying a team signed item off ebay without first communtcating with seller first to find out if he will allow a refund if you send item to psa or jsa and it fails.if he acts like a jerk hes likely hiding something and dont buy.allways ask exactly how and when the item was signed.

Hi. Can someone tell me what an adverage selling price for a Steiner authenticated Albert Pujols signed baseball?

At 7:13 AM , Anonymous said...

JS, that's exactly why I brought up the point about the numerous team-signed football helmets that seller "Alwayz_Rackin05" has sold. He is now selling his 10th Florida Gators team-signed helmet and the seller is located in California. He is selling fakes and buyers are paying decent money for fakes. I am sure many of those buyers are local dealers who will then sell them at a card store or card show for three times their purchase price. I have filed numerous reports with Ebay and they don't care. They are making money from the sales of those fakes so why would they remove them, right? It also demonstrates that these bad sellers know they can get away with it. I mean here's a seller (Alwayz_Rackin05) who is blatnatly selling team-signed helmets on a continuous basis without fear of any reprisal from Ebay. Once again, shame on Ebay.

Be prepared to spend at least $400.00 for a Albert Pujols Steiner Sports authenticated autographed baseball. This also brings up another point, and that point being that Upper Deck, Topps, Steiner Sports, Altman and the rest of them don't care about the forgeries being sold on Ebay even when it involves the athletes they have under contract. They do not care. Do you they have the power to do something? Yes they do, but they don't care.

Check out the auctions from Ebay Seller "Uniqueautographhut." Who the heck would buy an autograph on Ebay without the seller ever having a photograph of the autograph item? Incredible.

The trend is quite disturbing Chris. There are several sellers who - in an attempt to thwart quick opinion have begun listing items and not posting photos (or bad photos) OR are using Steiner and Mounted stock photos.

Most sites have a disclaimer that says.."all images are copyrighted....cannot be used without permission". If These sites enforced their own rules, they could easily muscle some of these sellers into quitting that idiotic way of selling forged merchandise.

Also, when listing the seller is required to say who the COA is from. Look at this auction: 180092780234 Seller Beachcardsjax sold a TON of this signature over the years...only problem is, I had two seperate photos fail quick opinion...and I know of a local dealer who bought from him (10 photos) all came back bad. it is a pretty close forgery, but still bad.

I don't understand how these guys can get away with such blatent crimes. I have dealt with Ebay on several occassions and have reported sellers with fraudulent merchandise not related to sports memorabilia. They have never done anything about any of the reports that I have filed. However, they have never been relunctant to remove any of my items that have violated a petty rule that they have, such as having the item in the wrong category or putting my website address in the listing. When I have contacted them about fraudulent merchandise, they claim they will look into it, but it takes so long and if they do get to it, it is too late as the item has already sold.

I just contacted their other company, PayPal, the other day as someone purchased one of our items with a stolen credit card. I wanted them to open an investigation and they would not even do that.

I think those of us that deal with authentic autographed merchandise ban together and find someway to combat this issue. The fraudulent dealers are only bringing down the business and making the legitimate items less valuable.

I feel sorry for those individuals that buy these items as there is not going to be any recourse for them once they find out that their item is fraudulent.

its allways been pretty clear the big companies dont protect there exclusive athletes but you see the little guy with the exclusive that allways takes action.i guess uda with the 100's of thousands they make off micheal jordan each year doesnt care that you can buy a fake jordan basketball for 150 bucks on ebay

i wonder how much there deal with michael is or how long there contract is.im willing to bet he has by far the highest exclusive deal in sports history maybe double to the second place.i bet its over 100k easy for just a company to book a meet and great with him

here is a fake michael jordan basketball

i also really doubt this item as well
130088482315
seller claims this to be michaels full signature something he stopped signing in 1987.i own 3 different full signature items of jordan one of which i watched him sign and all 3 have a full loa from psa/dna.this example looks nothing like m.j's full signature.the sad thing is the seller looks like a jordan collector and he has another item for sale claiming to be the full name and it actually looks pretty close

maybe uda has finally got the message which is great because i can promise you this others will follow.like and business the competion watchs each other and tends to allways try and copy or follow the leader so this might make for some big changes in the next year or 2

also to add to the fullsignature ball besides the signature looking bad it doesnt appear to have any fadeing.remember folks this ball would of have to be signed 20 years ago before promoters realized black paint pens hold forever on a basketball, football etc. back then it was sharpies that allways fade.only artist of artwork used paint pens
another note even though it doesnt show model of the basketball im willing to bet ball probaly came out after 1987

I also wanted to respond to Troy's comments which were well written. Ebay proclaims to want and to be a "safe trading environment" but the truth is that Ebay is the "unsafest" of trading environments. They will go head-to-head with you on something silly and inconsequential, but yet they allow the sellers of forgeries to run rampant on their auction site. I recall during December 2005 I submitted an auction for a Derek Jeter autograph card in which 100% of the proceeds of my auction were to go to a local radio station for charity. Well because I didn't go through "Ebay Giving Works (It was called something else back then)" Ebay cancelled my auction within 10 minutes of me submitting it. Now how come Ebay was able to cancel my auction so quickly but they allow the bad guys to run rampant on their auction even after proof is submitted to them that a seller is selling forgeries? Can you explain that one to me, Meg? Hey, Meg, seller "Americansportscollectibles," who is now removed from Ebay, sold well over 2,000 fake autographed footballs. Meg, how come it took Ebay over 18 months before you finally did something about it? How much money did you personally make from the sales of those forged autographed footballs? The fake autograph industry on Ebay is at epidemic proportions and Ebay is loving it, since those sales translate into big bucks for Ebay. If my tone sounds angry and frustrating it's because it is, Meg. You have the ability and resources to do something about it, but the truth is you don't care and the true collectors are suffering because of it. How many millions of collectors own forgeries due to you only caring about dollars? Shame on you, Ebay.

Chris W.

it was called"mission fish" back then chris

i feel your pain ebay has proactive tools in place to pick up on certain things like maybe you put charity in the listing title and it might of poped a flag or something.i agree with you i have had serval issues of my own on ebay involving my listings over the years that were pretty dumb

jeter_sucks

At 4:03 PM , Anonymous said...

That's it, JS, it was called "Mission Fish." Now I can understand that regulation because many on Ebay are unscrupulous enough to use charity to puch the bidding (oh no, that wouldn't happen on Ebay, would it?). But Ebay uses petty regulations to make it look like they are providing a "Safe Trading Environment" but the truth is it is just a facade. Have you guys ever looked at the entertainment autographs on Ebay? It's ten times worse than the fake autographs from athletes. Where else can a company profit from the sales of forged autograph items? Think about that.

Chris W.

At 5:13 PM , Anonymous said...

Wow, that was fast. I filed a report to Ebay about seller "kdtk947bbbz" being a resurfaced bad seller and would you believe that Ebay already removed him and his items. Why doesn't Ebay work that fast with all the bad sellers that we report. Meg, as much as we criticize Ebay here, we are here to help. All we want is for the bad sellers to be removed, and the fact is, for the most part, you are not doing that job very well. You must do more. Much more.

Someone who is a Powerseller may be able to answer this for me...

I noticed in Gateway City Signatures' feedback that many people left positive feedback and he/she filed a dispute and won... is this a way to scam non-responsive buyers out of $$$? I looks shady, as some of the people who had unpaid notification claims were several hundred deep in feedback. Maybe someone can set me straight.

Also, when sellers berate and call their customers stupid in feedback, it is not someone I am ever interested in dealing with. I mean, he defaces positive comments in his feedback to attack someone who left a negative for slow shipping...he has 20 negatives for slow shipping, but of course, none are his fault - it is the customers fault for buying during the holiday season. Pathetic.

As far as Cavemancandoit99, he is an opportunist and a complete scumbag. Anyone who buys his stuff has issues...funny, the Anna ball is singed with the same Sharpie that Jeter and A-Rod signed with...and PUJOLS...Christ, why not just sell the Sharpie?

Finally, take a look at this one:

Bastard Brit trying to con everyone in sight with this bad forgery on a stupid crap ball that he says is worth $100 US. NOT ANYMORE. Also, read his sickening description about how tired he has become of the fake autograph market...and how he has reported fakes to the company who cares about it...HEY BRITISH GUY...EAT AN UNDERCOOKED HAMBURGER.

For ebay seller "Gateway_City_Signatures."
(Item Number 130065631334) Sorry to tell ya, Chris, but the autos on there are good. I've gotten Addai and Reggie Wayne a few times myself and that's thier sigs... All the fake Colts team signed items that came out had fake Manning's and Harrison's on them like he says. Why would someone fake all the 2nd rate players on a helmet and leave off Manning and Harrison??? As for the unpaid claims BigTruck talks about a few of my buyers leave feedback for items for stuff they never even pay for and Ebay removes it if they don't pay, do you not know how feedback works, or what?

At 8:53 PM , Anonymous said...

i think item Number 130065631334 is Ok, too. i collect some football items and it looks good to me.... why forge the helmet and leave manning, harrison, etc. (all the big names off) does not make sense to do that???

To BT: On the feedback quest.,.... if a seller opens a non-paid item reminder 7 days after the auction ended, if it is not closed in the alloted time (30 days, I think) then ebay blocks the feedback rating, but not the comment. A lot of large volume sellers with the ebay stores have the same situation as there is the option to automatically file a non paying bidder warning exactly 7 days after the auction ends in the ebay selling manager, so I assume that is what the deal is here. The fact that the comments are positive and the rating removed makes me pretty confident they are harmless.

Uh Gateway Sigs -

I know how feedback works - I am not a big seller, so I was simply asking a question. It was answered.

For the record, I am a Cardinals collector (which you should know) and I have never bought anything from you ..even though I think your Cards stuff is legit. The primary reason is your abnoxious attitude toward your customers. Maybe you don't know how feedback works - if someone is dissatisfied with your service, they are allowed to leave a negative comment. But not with you...every time someone has left you a negative (38 different people plus the mutually removed comments) you blame your own customers...basically calling them stupid. If you only had 2 negatives, that's one thing. But you have close to 40.
Sorry if my comment about the unpaid items upset you - but I think it is a valid question for a board that discusses eBay sellers.
Negative feedbacks tend to throw up red flags - evben if your itmes are real. Just ask Mr. Coppola at Sportsintegrity. He sells legit stuff, but he has some service issues. Because of it, he has been mentioned in this blog a few times. AND he sells authenticated items, most of your are in-person sigs, so your customers need to be able to trust you even more. Stop being so angry.

in order to retain powerseller status a seller must keep rating above 98%(ebays words)....why is joe copplla still a powerseller???dont get me wrong hes a great guy and everything he sells is real but yeah he gets blasted with bad feedbacks.i will tell you he gets bad feedbacks is because he drop ships lots of items directly from steiner.not to piss anybody off on here since some are touchy that means he sells something he phyiscaly doesnt have in his possesion, collects the money then emails the order to steiner sports to ship and then is at the mercy of steiner sports shipping department(which is good)but things tend to sell out without notice to him so hes in a bad situiation and hes also has such a huge inventory he is allways selling out of his items without knowing he has one on ebay.ive read his feedbacks and those steiner displays cases seem to be breaking a lot during shipping.steiner sports will give you great volume discounts if you sell there display cases because there swimming in them.im not being critcal of him because hes honest and a friend but thats the bulk of his feedback probelms

also im sure ebay lets him slide on the rating since at one time he was grossing over 1 million in sales on ebay

When I was talking about Gateway sigs, I was using myself as an example, not that I'm him.... I checked out what you meant... 30 bad feedbacks as opposed to 2...... yeah, but its out of 3,500 transactions, not 100 or something... let alone those who don't even leave feedback. I agree most buyers have unrealistic expectations, so s*it happens. I thought this was the "calling out sellers of forged crap" blog??? So why do you care what someone puts in thier own feedback? Stick to what you guys know best, talking a big stink about something you know nothing about... G'day!

At 1:38 PM , bigtruck260 said...

Feedback is a big part of how trustworthy a seller is. IT shows how well he packages and ships his items - and how fast he gets them out. It never guarantees authenticity...we know that.

Nothing wrong with 38 negatives in 3500 transactions...but when you leave ignorant and rude comments about your customers - it shows what a class act you are. I know that some sellers expect the world...but come on - if you are selling unauthenticated autographs, you should be bending over backward to provide service to avoid getting those negatives...which all say the same thing.

I asked a question about feedback, it was answered...and as far as me thinking you were Gateway City Sigs - this is a confusing statement:

"As for the unpaid claims BigTruck talks about a few of my buyers leave feedback for items for stuff they never even pay for...."

You are missing a comma after "about". Makes all the difference.

Sorry about the confusion - and questions are allowed. It's a forum. I never claimed I was a feedback expert - thus the question.

my take if a sellers leaves a hateful feedback in return to a negative(unless his is hateful too)he is a jerk and is that really the type of people you want to do business with????if they lie and decive you in feedback they will lie in other ways to you to

I've been reading blogs on this site for a few days now and found it most useful. I do have one thing that nobody's brought up yet and it's some disturbing news with Steiner. They have never had a signing with Pujols. According to a few sources (that I will not reveal), there have been several Pujols items (mostly baseballs) with the Steiner hologram that were deemed unauthentic by PSA. I was as shocked as anyone at first. Steiner purchased their Pujols balls - needless to say, most were forgeries. Steiner is NOT an authenticating service. Your best bet with them is to stick with players under contract with them - the guys at PSA will tell you that they purchase a lot of stuff and simply put their own holograms/COAs with them. As if we need more bad Pujols news!

At 4:11 PM , Anonymous said...

I have zero doubt the Pujols/ Steiner story is legit. I've also heard of workers at shows stealing Steiner holograms and putting it on thier own items or paying a low level employee at Steiner to hand over the stickers and then they email them back to enter the COA number in thier computer database! Steiner is no better than any other no name company on Ebay!!!

dear Anonymous keep laughing
i sell on ebay and i know some buyers are complete idoits and sometimes leave b.s. feedback but the truth is in the history.if another seller leaves hateful after hateful feedback it devlopes a patteren like a record it spins the same way everytime.cetainly a seller can be wrong and screw something up.its something many sellers do is strong arm feedback by not leaving it until its left and if its negative or even just netural the sellers blasts them with hateful feedback.sometimes its deserving but if its happening all the time somethings not right
i have no idea who you are nore do i really care to veiw your feedback.my comments are based on forum conversations

as far as steiner albert p thing dont jump to a conclusion to think if steiner didnt do the signing the ball isnt real.i havent seen it nore do i know for sure where they bought it from but i know this when they dont do there own signing and buy into someone elses it allways a reputable company like mounted, uda etc
as just a guess id be willing to bet steiner bought there albert items from mounted memories who did a signing with albert and another company together.

now on the holograms thats a whole different issue.shady things happen all the time.some people at the finer lager memorabilia companys will hook up there buddies with holograms.people have also stolen holograms at bigger shows.i put nothing past anybody.its all about who you buy from and if you buy from a dealer you can trust you should stick with them for all your needs

I think the veterans here are all aware of the fact that some "funny things" have occured with all the major autograph companies. Here's a story that Jeter_Sucks might be aware of that came from a dealer here in NJ a long time ago when Upper Deck was selling their Mickey Mantle autographed baseballs. I know of a dealer here in NJ who owned a bunch of legitimate Mickey Mantle autographed baseballs. At the time Upper Deck was in need of more and purchased them from this dealer, but before they put their UDA sticker on them, they had them authenticated by PSA. They were authentic but UDA didn't witness those signings by The Mick.

I bought a Pujols baseball from Steiner last year (the signing was in 2002), but they did not have many in stock. The sigs were terrible - see eBay item # 190092557605, but that is how he was signing at the time. The Mounted balls have a slightly better signature...see eBay item# 140094679134

It sounds possible that Steiner could have purchased balls from another signing, no big deal as long as it was witnessed by a Steiner rep. I'm sure it happens all the time. Steiner needed some Pujols balls to keeps it's customer base happy. Both autographs are real, just signed at different times.

Look at this item...200089510954
It looks just like the signature that UDA is offering on a 2006 WS ball. UDA is only offering 55 WS balls, but my guess is that there are more out there from that signing - and they will be listed by other companies after UD sells it's stock. Probably part of the agreement. Albert only used that particular loopy signature this past year for the first time at that GAI sponsored signing (prior to the WS)...When I first saw it, I thought it looked fake it was so different.

As far as holograms...I am looking at my Colby Rasmus ball that just came this week from Steiner - no serial number on the ball, but the COA card has a bar code. If the Steiner ball that you are purchasing does not have a bar code, or it was "missing" , you might want to send it to PSA or JSA.

Steiner and Mounted are too high up on the food chain to sell items that they are not 2000 percent sure are authentic. Thanks for the professional insight JS. Makes sense.

dear Anonymous keep laughing... OK I WILL.

i sell on ebay and i know some buyers are complete idoits and sometimes leave b.s. feedback... YEAH ABOUT 2% OF THEM.

but the truth is in the history.if another seller leaves hateful after hateful feedback it devlopes a patteren like a record it spins the same way everytime..... I DONT HAVE PATIENCE FOR STUPIDITY... REASON WHY I DON'T POST HERE.

something many sellers do is strong arm feedback by not leaving it until its left and if its negative or even just netural the sellers blasts them with hateful feedback.... LOL, PEOPLE LOOK FOR LAME EXCUSES TO LEAVE BAD FEEDBACK FOR YOU AS SOON AS YOU LEAVE GOOD FEEDBACK FOR THEM.. LAAAAMMMMEE!!!

sometimes its deserving but if its happening all the time somethings not right.... IF SOMEONE CAN'T EMAIL ME IF THERES A PROBLEM AND WANT TO USE NEGATIVE FEEDBACK, THEN I DO THE SAME!

i have no idea who you are nore do i really care to veiw your feedback.my comments are based on forum conversations... BLOW ME.

This person just loves to contradict themselves, lol. First they act like they are the seller mentioned and then say they are not, and then they say I don't post here when they just wrote something on the board after bickering with genuine buyers 5 times. Way to dig yourself into a hole.

"I have been an autograph collector for 18 years now and the Collector’s Universe age has been the worst era of all," one blogger wrote. "They have tried to influence every aspect of my hobby even so far as to twist eBay to their will. I’m sure this is true in the case of coins, sports cards and so forth. They have eBay warning buyers that unless PSA/DNA says so, nothing is authentic.

Similarly, a 17-year autograph collector who identified himself as someone who’s been selling autographed memorabilia full-time for six years, concurred with the previous blog, adding, "They have used clever marketing and spin to create a completely undeserved reputation for authenticating autographs, when in fact the reality is they provide nothing more than educated guesses. Case in point, golf is a specialty of mine and I probably have gotten Tiger Woods in person more times than anyone in the last three years. I have seen dozens of PSA/DNA authenticated Tiger Woods autographs, and nearly half of them are either questionable or obviously fake. There are several on eBay right now that are forgeries.

Meanwhile, a customer just returned a Michael Jordan jersey because PSA/DNA sent him a letter with 10 reasons why it’s fake. It’s too bad that it’s 100 percent real because I watched MJ sign it, and I even have the date, location and witnesses. I’m glad this lawsuit is finally shedding light on PSA/DNA’s highly profitable scam operation masquerading as a service for collectors."

Just the type of seller I would buy from.

And about Colby Rasmus, I am a CARDINALS COLLECTOR (hundredth time). Rasmus is the No. 1 prospect in the organization and a 2005 first round pick. If I can get a Steine authenticated baseball for $49, it is a minimal investment - shows your business skills to.

Stan, I looked at item number 250094629573 last night. Personally, I would stay away from it. Some sigs look OK, and others not OK. The seller does not explain where he got this item signed...all the sigs are in the same pen...the slant is the same on some sigs...Can you see the Pujols sig? I didn't. Knowing Albert's habit of not signing bats for the general public, I would pass. The Edmonds sig does not look right either...people always think they do a good job forging his sig, but they don't.

There are some flags on this item. In St. Louis, this bat would sell for $1500-$2000 if legit, not $600...

I have been very critical of Ebay in this blog for various reasons, with the main one being their refusal to clean up their auction site. The truth of the matter, and this is as blunt as I can get, is that the criminal activity on Ebay is beyond comprehension. I am overwhelmed by the fact that hundreds, maybe thousands, of sellers on Ebay who are selling forgeries on Ebay on a daily basis without fear of any type of reprisal. And even if there are reprisals, these bad sellers know they can jump right back in to sell their forgeries because Ebay does not flag those bad sellers when they resurface. All of this is beyond my comprehension, Meg. Why isn't more being done to clean up your auction site, Meg. Sellers like "Primetimesportsinc" selling garbage like Ebay Item Numbers 270098864989 and 270098863687. Meg, I have reported hundreds of bad sellers to your staff and probably well over a thousand reports and yet your staff has probably acted on 2% of those reports. Meg, following "Operation Bullpen" people went to jail for selling the same forgeries that other sellers are selling presently on your auction site. The lack of action by your staff, Meg, is both puzzling and shocking. To allow this type of continuous activity on your auction site, Meg, is beyond my comprehension. I have been attemtping to help Ebay rid itself of these bad sellers and for the most part we get ignored, Meg. The sales of forged autograph items on your auction site, Meg, is at epidemic proportions. When are you going to start cleaning it up, Meg?

The jersey/frame is actually pretty cool. You know, Allauthentic sponsors this blog, but I am not connected with it in any way - nor is anyone else here as far as I know.

I just checked the link to the auction you provided, and you are correct, there is a listing violation there...I know that Kelly, the owner of Allauthentic.com usually responds to comments like that in this blog, maybe he can address it.

I would be willing to bet that he does not get a huge bump in sales from posting that link in his auction.

To answer Anonymous above, this is direct from eBay's Link Policy:

"eBay allows sellers to place only certain types of links within an item description. A link is any mechanism used to take a member off of the eBay site, whether static or clickable. This applies to any format used for a link that includes but is not limited to, text, images, logos or icons.
Permitted links include:

*One link to a page that further describes the item being sold in that listing"

eBay actually lists 11 acceptable links in item descriptions.

Please retract your accusation that we are an "eBay Crook" -- as you can tell, we are well within eBay's policy and we respect all of eBay's rules and regulations.

First of all, I want to write that we are here for two main reasons. One, to make collectors and buyers aware of the forgeries that plague Ebay, and two, to expose those sellers on Ebay who sell forgeries without any fear of reprisal from Ebay. We like it when those "bad guys" read our blog, and we know we've hit a nerve when they begin to try to defend themselves, or when they attempt to make someone like All-Authentic look like a bad guy. Someone has to sponsor this blog or it would not exist, and it just so happens that All-Authentic happens to sponsoe this blog. And I see nothing wrong if All-Authentic picks up more business from being a sponsor of this blog, because by being a sponsor of this blog he has made himself a target of the bad guys just like Bigtruck and myself are. It's so ironic that people like us are more of a target than the bad guys are. You see, bad guys depend on things like intimidation to keep us away and they've discovered it doesn't work here. We refuse to back down and we've been fortunate enough to have others like BC, J-Man, Jeter_Sucks, Northern Pleasures, and others join us here. I've had my auctions harrassed and been threatened for what I do here, but these clowns do not scare me. They should all be ashamed of themselves for selling forgeries so blatantly. What they are doing is a crime and for some weird reason, even though it is a crime, it is done without fear of reprisal on Ebay. Yes, Ebay is 50% of the problem for looking at these forgers with a blind eye. Just yesterday Bigtruck and I noticed that seller "Pjuice1757," who has sold a ton of fake Tiger Woods autographed golf balls, is now selling his fourth fake David Beckham autographed soccer ball. I, for one, thank All-Authentic for being brave to put his name on this blog where he puts himself at risk from harrassment from the "bad guys." The majority of these "bad guys" hide behind "Private Auctions," which Ebay should ban. Just think of the amount of tainted money that Ebay makes from the sales of those forged autograph items. Shame on them.

With all due respect All Authentic, you are breaking eBay rule when your website name appears in your auction text as it does... Allauthentic.com. This falls clearly classifies as a TEXT link.
You are in the wrong.

When will "allauthentic" be changing its name to "some authentic"??? Nice feedback ratio, too (97% with most people saying they never got thier item??? SAD!). Its lower than anyone else your talking about! Big truck, we all know your paid in weak Colby Rasmus signed baseballs. How did the Bo Hart/ Rick Ankiel investment you have going on turn out???? I'll give you 2 Colby Rasmus signed baseballs to take your HILARIOUS fake wrestling mask off!!! GROW UP!

Anonymous 1, you are correct however if you look at our registered name on eBay, it is allauthentic.com so we are referring to our official eBay name in our auctions. Bottom line is you will NEVER find a situation where we will sell to an eBay customer outside of eBay. We get a lot of requests to do this but we always set up a fixed auction. There is no sense trying to cheat eBay when they are excellent business partners.

Trust me, we don't need to put ALLAuthentic.com in a listing to get people to go to our site, they can figure that one out by seeing the first thing at the top of the page -- our eBay name.

Anonymous 2, "some authentic?" -- we have had some negatives in the past but you are mischaracterizing our feedback file. If there were ONE valid complaint of a customer who didn't get their item, we would have been suspended from eBay a long time ago (we have been on eBay every day since 1998).

By the way, feedback does not guarantee authenticity if that is what you are implying. The guys who went to jail in Op Bullpen all had PERFECT feedback -- why? Because it is easy to keep fake stuff in stock.

For our readers, you can see our feedback for yourself:

im a big seller familiar with many ebay rules.
i checked out the link to the framed swatch and the link in the listing that takes you directly to all-authentic.com where it shows the gamer

all authentic is allowed to use there name allauthentic.com because they have been on ebay since before the rule changing.now if i wanted to put my web address im not allowed to.however if they wish to cxhange it to another name they willl never be allowed to use a website address in the name again

i did notice within your pictures many ".com" logos for your site.the rule applys to your user id not giving you a free pass at inserting .com on everything
im warning you because if reported ebay would likely kick down those auctions for use of a static link

Idiot #1 or #2 -

I am not going to defend my purchases after this...espscially one of a 1st round draft pick in the organization that I collect. If Colby fails to succeed at the big league level, so be it, I paid a whopping 50 bucks for a Steiner item...not an Allauthentic item.

As far as the wrestling mask goes, I don't want to get private messages from you or your cronies because of my good looks. You know you want me. That's why you keep seeking me out.

Bo Hart is a great bartender in STL these days...makes a mean Beam $ Coke for that alone, I would put his signature on my wall. Ankiel has the record for most wild pitches in a playoff game...the historical value is immeasurable. Friggin' priceless...

How about you grow up. You are picking a fight in a blog - think about it. Either you are with what we do, or you are against it. If you are the opposition, you probably either buy fake items, or sell them...

Chris, love the Maris signed softball from Iloveunderoath nice job.

I'm also a big Cardinals fan and collect Cardinals items. I would STILL pay for a Bo Hart or Rick Ankiel autograph. I dont collect as an investment because I dont ever plan on trying to sell my collection. I buy items not because of how much I could sell them for later but because they mean something to me. I remember Bo Harts incredible hot streak he was on when he was moved up and how big of a fan favorite he was. His signature means a lot more to me NOW than it did to someone who bought a Bo Hart item when he first made his big splash hoping to make a profit off him.

I don't usually address situations like the aforementioned few comments, but what gives anyone the right to "make fun" or criticize what another collector collects? I own a ton of autographs and old cards of my favorite player of all time growing up who happens to be Tom Tresh who played for the New York Yankees during the 1960's. Those are cards I will never sell. I cherish those cards and they have nothing to do with "investing" or anything else. Just like many of the old Morgan Silver Dollars that I own. I don't own them for the silver content, but I always wonder who handled those coins back in the 1880's. No collecter ever has to defend themselves for the items they collect. The only people who criticize others for that are the "misfits" who steal collector's money by selling them forged autographs of their favorite athletes. Enough said on that subject.

Looks like one of those new "copy cat" bad sellers who is trying to jump on the band wagon with those others in selling forgeries. ...sharpening my machete...

PSA Quick opinion is just another form of support from the autograph industry. We already know that the sigs are fake, but having PSA second it covers our ass in case someone (eBay) tries to call foul and sue us or something. eBay loves PSA, so if PSA says it is bad, then they have a pretty weak foundation for a case.

Usually if an item is obviously fake, and one of us emails the seller of the crappy item - they come back with a big story about how they acquired the item in person, etc. Then they tell us that they are a police officer or a lawyer or a team executive (my personal favorite) and even a relative. Then THEY 80% of the time threaten to sue us for slander/libel, etc. etc. etc.

I rarely send stuff to PSA, but it gives me satisfaction when I get to send the PSA report to the idiot seller and eBay removes his item because it fails. Even better if the bid is up to $200 or more. That way I know that he is suffering...he can't buy his daily dimebag, his dozen MacGregor baseballs, his pack of blue pens, paint pens and sharpies - or holograms in some cases.

I spend about 20 minutes daily between this blog and eBay. I work full time, support a family - and still have money left to collect autographs. Call me a loser if you want, but the majority of the people who read this blog (more than you think) support what we do here. The ones who don't have a right to disagree. As long as it is respectful. Hopefully, if you disagree, you can do it like an adult instead of name calling. I regret even responding to the ignorant comments made earlier - I stooped to that person's level.

I'll bet some people get orgasmically excited just thinking about coming into a blog and causing problems...those people are the losers, not the ones who contribute because they want to stop people from getting ripped off.

Wow!, Bo Hart is a bartender in STL now? Last I heard he was in the Cards AAA team last year, if I remember correctly. Thats crazy.. he can't be making more there than he did in AAA! When he was with the Rockies AAA team, I expected him to be a Sept. call up because they had a lame 2B, but obviously never happend! I would think the Cards could at least land him a job with the club doing something. Where is he bartending at?? I'll be making a trip to STL for a few games and I might have to stop in for a BUD!

I have to admit that I heard the Bo Hart story second hand...but it's not the first time I heard it. Apparently it's somewhere in Soulard (downtown). Nevermind, not Chuck Carr.

Dear Mr. Anonymous, I don't submit "Quick Opinions" for me, as I can differentiate between an authentic autograph and a forgery. I submit them for documentational purposes. One day I might need them to defend myself, and if that day ever happens, I will be able to show whomever that Ebay did not follow the advice of their own pre-qualfied authenticators. I have in my possession over 6 inches of documentation from the past 2 1/2 years. And as for the forgers that plague Ebay, they are all bullies and cowards. You all hide behind "mail forwarding" addresses, and you never use your real name. The bullies and forgers from Ebay depend on two things: Lies and intimidation. You see honest people have no need for intimidation, but the "bad guy forgers" have nothing else to use to defend themselves except for imtimidation and lies. They steal peoples money for a living, and for the most part, Ebay allows it. The crooks know all of this. For all I know all of these "Anonymous" commenters could be Ebay employees attempting to dissuade from doing what we do here. But the bullies that write in here (and I want them to continue writing in here since everything they write something they reveal a little bit more about themselves) are attempting to get us to stop. I remember when I was in first grade in New York and we had a bully in class. My best friend, Paul, told me if he every approaches you just punch him in the nose. Well that bully did approach me and before you could say one word I punched him right in the nose; he never approached me again. But the "Ebay Bully Forgers" here hide, just like they hide on Ebay behind their "Private" auctions and their "mail forwarding" addresses. Remember, these are people who should be put in jail for stealing. They are thieves. They commit fraud. Ebay likes them because they make Ebay big profits. But you have to understand one thing about Ebay. It is not a true auction site. A real auction house is responsible for items they broker that are later discovered to be fraudulent. Ebay accepts no responsibility for the tens of thousands fraudulent autograph items that have been sold on their site but yet they accept the monies being made from the sales of those same fraudulent autograph items. Shame on Ebay.

I have my own in-person sellers that I buy from - all you have to do is check my feedback to see who they are. Everything I have purchased from in-person sellers has passed my visual inspection - and passed quick opinion (who I use as a back up in case I have to sell the item one day).

I had to comment on this A -Hole anonymous jerk-off. First off, I have added to my collection by both in-person "freebies" and purchasing via dealers and shows. I have enjoyed both, but as far as the final product goes, I prefer to purchase them, for the simple fact that you get a better looking signature, not the hurried "lobby scribble" most athletes give to these pests that follow them all over the country. I was in Atlanta for the All-star festivities in 2000, and probably stood beside mr. loser with his duffle bag full of memorabilia, yelling at the players who wouldnt give him the time of day,and making a general ass out of himself. Now he comes on this forum and tells us how he is mr. super collector who gets all his stuff for free and knows all-sees all - WHILE HE TYPES IN ALL CAPS ALL THE TIME AND MISPELLS EVERY OTHER WORD. Take some advice son, go back and get your high school diploma, chasing players around the country for horrible looking autographs dosnt offer much of a future.

And when you respond to this, use the name "john smith", or something besides anonymous, that way I can at least pretend that you are not as big of a coward as you really are.

Fags?

You are in an AUTOGRAPH forum. You act like your opinion is the only one that matters. I guess stalking professional athletes for a scribble is NOT GAY? I don't think approaching men in public with stuff for them to sign is worth the hassle. If a jerk like you is trying to sell it, it is worthless anyway.

I'd much rather pay a little more for a nice signature than to bother someone and get an "x". I mean, are you selling Jeters for $30? or $300?

People who talk sh%t in web forums are the real tough guys, everyone know that.

When you walk up to these guys with your pen in their face, all you do is give them an ego trip...and when you walk away they are the ones calling you a fag.

hey you little punk just because the goverment pays you in welfare checks doesnt mean you get a free trip to hawaii.
guys like you are idoits and the reason why athletes started to charge for there autographs.

im willing to bet this guy sells lot of fake signatures with your 30 dollar jeter baseballs

Hey, Stan, the seller of that item is Ebay Seller "Sportfanzone." Both the Ortiz and Pujols he has up now are fakes. These guys just never stop. He sent me an email that read "what? how do you know? if thats the case, than the person who sold it to me screwed me."

This seller knows exactly what they are selling.

First of all, for as much as these crooks continue to lie and attempt to intimidate us, I, for one, am glad they comment here. The more they comment, the more they reveal themselves. You have to understand one thing, they have no justified way to defend themselves. They are committing fraud. They are stealing buyers money. They should be in jail. They continue to hide. For the longest time the majority of buyers on Ebay figured that if a autograph item is on Ebay then it must be authentic, and, of course, we all know that is the furthest thing from the truth. And the crooks know that and they take advantage of Ebay's lack of policing its own site. I will no longer call Ebay an "auction site." Numerous times when I would contact a Ebay Seller of forged autograph items and tell them they are selling forgeries, they would always reply "Ebay wouldn't allow it on if it was fake." Ebay does not, and I repeat, does not check autograph submissions. They allow everything to slide right through and the crooks know that, too, and that's why Ebay has become the largest wholesale source for fake autograph items.

Also by the way this is for stan johnson, that is a fake peyton manning tenn mini helmet but you are incorrect about the number. He was #16 in college, and #18 in the pros.

Just the fact that these bad guys have no other recourse than to attack us personally shows us the kind of people they really are. That's why I write "the more the comment the more they reveal themselves." I wonder how these people sleep at night knowing they are stealing from people.

At 8:24 AM , Anonymous said...

Chris, you shouldnt really be talking about "attacking others personally" how many sellers have proven you wrong with Quick Opinon?? Please be honest or I will cite examples!

At 11:09 AM , bigtruck260 said...

Calling out purveyors of shoddy, forged merchandise in a public forum is not a personal attack...it is a benefit to society.

If you agree with the people who call us names and tell us that what we do is worthless...then you may as well be forging stuff in your garage.

There are 2 sides to this blog...either you hate fake stuff or you like it. There is also a middle ground for point clarification.

We know:

That PSA is less than 100% accurate..we go after the obvious fakes.

We make mistakes sometimes too. I can cite examples of times where we have been wrong...admitted it, and apologized.

That many more people read this blog than comment on it. People usually only comment when they disagree strongly. Only a few of those people have posted. Most are in our favor.

We have Naru'ed plenty of frauds...some have been back, and some stay away. No matter how samll the operation, they have probably been called out in this forum. If what we do keeps a beginner from buying a crappy fake, then we serve a purpose.

I can only guess who the last two anonymous comments are from...but I have a good idea.

Do you think there is any way possible that this could be a legitimate Pujols autograph from 2006? It looks like 2001 or 2002, maybe early 2003 at the very latest.

Just to let you guys know that Ebay item Number 330101507378, a Florida Gators team-signed helmet from seller "Alwayz_Rackin05" failed "Quick Opinion." He had just sent me an email telling me that all of his autographs will pass PSA and that none of his autograph items are fake. Yeah right!!!

At 2:58 AM , graph_collectin said...

When an item fails Quick Opinon, where do you send it to on ebay? Thanks!

At 5:26 AM , Chris said...

You don't have to forward the "Quick Opinion" to Ebay. PSA and Ebay have an arrangement that when an item fails "Quick Opinion" Ebay will remove the auction. They don't always do it immediately, but they will eventually remove it. That has been my experience.

I submitted a "Quick Opinion" on Ebay Item Number 320095505409. It was a Derek Jeter autographed photo from Ebay Seller "Sportspmania." The seller writes he got the autographed photo from Coaches Corner. Ebay already removed the auction since it failed "Quick Opinion." The seller, who is also selling questionable Mickey Mantle autographed photos, writes in his auctions "This is an autograph that came in a huge lot of autographs, we recently purchased from Coaches Corners, a very reputable sports memorabilia company / auction house. This comes with our certificate of authenticity from Sportspmania."

Coaches Corner? What a joke.

What amuses me about seller "Sportspmania" is that he claims he had a Mickey Mantle autographed photo authenticated by PSA, but yet he has never sold a PSA Authenticated autograph item as of today (March 25, 2007). This seller is once again selling three more Mickey Mantle autographed photos from Coaches Corner. Also, seller "Arrowhead052" is once again selling another fake Albert Pujols autographed baseball. They use to sell other fakes under the Ebay ID of "Nortdogs793."

At 6:39 AM , Chris said...

Another seller of fake autograph cards is seller "redhorde74." He has sold a ton of fake Derek Jeter and Albert Pujols autograph cards. He claims he gets them all from a private collector in Ohio.
All fake.

At 6:42 AM , Chris said...

The following email I received from Ebay Seller "Redhorde74" proves that these sellers all communicate with each other and that they sell fakes under multiple Ebay IDs. I had never contacted Ebay Seller "Redhorde74" and yet below is his reply to me:

"GET A LIFE WATCHDOG! GO HARRASS OTHER PEOPLE WITH YOUR BS COMMENTS. YOU ARE LIKE A BITCH WITH NOTHING BETTER TO DO, YOU ARE A JOKE AND SEND THIS TO WHOMEVER YOU WANT INCLUDING PUJOLS HIMSELF.LOL"

At 8:46 AM , Chris said...

I am noticing that more and more of these sellers are using 1-day Auctions to avoid detection of their fake autograph items. I noticed this morning Ebay Seller "Sportsguy20000" using 1-Day Auctions to sell his fake autograph items.

Check out the garbage from Ebay Seller "Suprby65." Check out this really bad Derek Jeter (Ebay Item Number 280098160408). His Pujols and Arod autographs are bad fakes, too.

Also, go to this site from Coaches Corner Auctions if you want to see some really bad stuff. The website is: www.myccsa.com

Check out some of the Derek Jeter, Babe Ruth and Mickey Mantle items. Especially look at Lot Number 275. Some of the stuff is authenticated by Chris Morales who "never saw an autograph he didn't like."

I was browsing through the Coach's Corner lots this weekend. if I was a consigner and I gave CC a lot of 12 Pujols signed baseballs, and all I got in return was a $400 bucks, I'd be unhappy. But I guess when all you have to pay for is the baseball, it's really not that bad.

Chris Morales and his signaturedreams.com escapades should alert anyone in the industry that what he does is fraudulent.

Some of the stuff I saw at CC was good, but there were plenty of fakes mixed in. If you think eBay is bad, stay away from that site. SCD loses all cred. for giving them so much face time in their publication.

Hello...

I'm not a big collector or anything..(pardon my ignorance) but just wanted to ask a basic question after this brief descrip of situation...

I recently bought several items at a charity event for my friend with Cancer. Her boyfriend works for an football equipment mfg. The word of the benefit was put out to some schools and NFL teams etc, and they donated items. The items I bought came directly from the teams themselves... I ended up with., among other things:

A Carolina Panthers Team signed ball

Cleveland Browns team signed ball

Ozzie Newsome signed ltd edition print

A friend of mine got a Roy Williams signed Off. NFL ball and a Santana Dotson signed SB ball, and a Team signed Southern Miss ball..

I also bought several riddell team helmets with future ability to get autographed (such as Ron Dayne on a Wisc helmet, since he's in Houston now)

My question isn't about whether they authentic, they unquestionably are.. question is, if myself (doubt), an heir, or someone else ever wanted/needed to prove it.. what would they do?

Also, I had a approx 1988 American League ball, for many years I actually thought it was a Nat'l Ball (and just had it stored away) A friend of mine involved with baseball players foundations etc was able to get Clemens to sign it. (He signed it Cy 7, not easy to do on a 88 AL ball I imagine.

My only other ball is a Reggie Jackson ball (which is why I had the extra American league ball) that I watched him sign approx 1988)

I know all are real without doubt, but how would someone else prove it?

Thanks for your expertise and suggestions etc.

GG - glad to meet you.

What you should do is have the item professionally authenticated. If you are concerned about posterity's ability to provide proof. I am not 100% on the bandwagon with this subject.

If you are 100% certain that the item is real, authentication os not really needed because a true collector will know the difference. Just save all reciepts and history associated with the item.

If you think you may want to sell the items, many seem to want the professional authentication. There are 3 major companies that do this:

GAI, PSA and James Spence.

I never use GAI, just a preference.

PSA/DNA (psadna.com) are good with mainstream autographs that have little or no variation. I have used them with an item that I knew was real, and they rejected it. Call it strict, I call it incompetence. Many buyers still trust them. I would guess that they are about 85-90% accurate.

James Spence (spenceloa.com) - my personal favorite. Service is faster and many times less expensive. The Spence LOA (Letter of Authenticity) is very popular with eBay buyers and sellers. James Spence is very trusted, however, everyone makes mistakes...and Spence is not excluded.

The cost of authentication averages about 30-50 bucks, more for dead HOF players and rarities. For instance, RUTH is going to be alot more than a BONDS.

DO research.

You can also list the itmes on ebay for a low starting bid and send them to PSA for a quick opinion. This costs $7.50 and is minimal, but if you save the emails that say "likely genuine", you hav peace of mind for yourself.

Check out the sites listed and let us know how it turns out. BT260

Thanks for the info Big Truck.

My question was out of a what if someone down the road needs it. For me, I am positive of authenticity because these items came from the teams themselves, or someone with frequent access to mlb players for charity purposes. Interesting subject in and of itself. There is a big charity function every year I usually go to (never win silent auction though) and they have Pujols bats and balls there, big topic of conversation, and I will closely look at them for authenticity markings/stickers or whatever it is that is supposed to be associated with it.

Anyways,

Thanks for the information!

Gary

Just a funny note, I'll never forget when jackson signed a ball at the grand opening of some store.. then rolled the ball across the table to me.. "thanks for the smudge dude"

At 3:10 PM , CELEBERD said...

LOL.... why would you pay for someone to "authenticate" something you know it real and theres a 15% chance they are going to be wrong??? With GAI, you might as well flip a coin weather its real or fake. Just keep your recipt from the charity and your fine. When it comes out to the public that PSA can do quick opinons in 15 minutes any Sunday night at 2:00 AM, the value of thier opinon will hit zero. Bigtruck and Chris loves PSA, but never comments about the 2 AM Sunday replies!!! WHY NOT????

You are right, it sounds like I LOVE PSA.

You have no room to attack anyone here.

This is Joe from Sports Integrity and I am replying to a post above in which the person at one point says they are my friend. Anyways, We had a bad experience with the shipment of steiner cases from steiner. There were many that were broken during delivery and that caused an issue with our ebay customers.

Just to clarify something, we RARELY drop ship items that we post on ebay. The only things we really drop shipped were steiner cases as they had tons in stock. We did stop selling them for the most part.

The issue i have had is good inventory control since we sell on ebay and wholesale items to various clients. There is no ill will but its something we have been working on.

AS far as ebay feedback, if you read and understand the policy about a powerseller, you will realize that you need to have an OVERALL feedback rating of 98%. Ebays site does not show that but they tell you how to focure it out. you need to include ALL positive comments even ones that are unique......meaning if a customer leaves you 20 positives, that counts towards your OVERALL RATING not the rating ebay shows.

When we first started selling on ebay we sold glass sets and other items like knives etc which were low cost items. These items attracted different kinds of sellers who complained about $1 items etc. It wasnt the smartest thing in the worl but we were experimenting with selling on ebay. This was like 6 years ago.

Anyhow, if anyone has any questions, feel free to contact me at anytime. We have a new online store in the works and we will most likely keep adding new items to ebay although its been pretty bad lately.

Our new site will be availabe after completion at http://www.sportsintegrity.com

Thanks and best regards,

Joe
