Roger Clemens Signed Yankees Baseball?

The seller of this baseball states that it was signed in person by Roger Clemens. We are not very familiar with Roger's autograph so if anyone has any info please feel free to comment.

Looks very similar to his signature, but it's difficult to tell from far off. Plus its written in Charpy instead of with a pen. Looks close, but hard to tell.

You want to see a real piece of junk. Check out Ebay Item Number 300117108886 from Ebay Seller "Favoritessc." Check out the fake autographs on that ball of David Wright, Willie Randolph and the others. These were penned by the same person. Again, even though this Ebay Seller (Favoritessc) has sold fakes in the past Ebay allows him to continue selling his fakes. Look forward to my next comment after I had a frustratng conversation with Dan from Ebay.

The below "Quick Opinion" result is of an item being sold by Ebay Seller "Yeahandstuff." It was Ebay item Number 190117643006. That item was a horrible forgery of a Derek Jeter autographed baseball with a COA from "Phat Graphs." Now here's what's really incredible!!! The seller (Yeahandstuff) relisted the same forgery under Ebay Item Number 190118707085! That's how screwed up Ebay is! Why didn't they flag this seller? Why was he able to relist a fraudulent autograph item without it being flagged? Below is the "Quick Opinion" result from the first listing of this forgery by Ebay Seller "Yeahandstuff."

You’re Request for Item "Derek Jeter autographed baseball.” Ebay Item No. "190117643006", opinion was rendered at "5/31/2007 12:28:44 PM" and the result was:

Response: "Likely Not Genuine"

The story of this forged Derek Jeter autographed baseball continues. On Friday night (June 1st) I called Ebay about this item. I explained to Dan that this item failed “Quick Opinion” and that I had to beg Ebay to remove it even after it failed “Quick Opinion.” After Ebay removed it seller “Yeahandstuff” relisted it almost immediately. I informed Dan that the seller relisted an item that both failed “Quick Opinion” and that Ebay removed. I asked him why this item wasn’t flagged and removed immediately. He replied “that your report will be acted when received.” In other words, my report will be reviewed in the order that it is received. I even gave him the new Ebay Item number and he informed me that it would be reviewed within 24 hours. Well, as of this writing on June 3rd, that relisting of a Derek Jeter forgery is still an active auction. To say the least this has infuriated me and I told Dan in my own blunt words exactly that. I informed Dan that I was also infuriated at the fact that Ebay favors the bad sellers over the legitimate sellers. The truth is the Ebay website is rampant with fraud. It is a hotspot for copycat sellers who see how easy it is to sell forgeries on Ebay without penalty. It’s sad that collectors like me, Bigtruck and others pay for “Quick Opinion” reports when Ebay has access to that service. Ebay has basically given these bad sellers to sell fake autograph items. How does Ebay explain the fact that it took them over a year to boot seller “Americansportscollectibles” who ended selling over 2500 forged autographed footballs? Think about that, this is just a single “bad seller” that Ebay allowed to sell over 2500 fake autograph footballs before they took action. Please look forward to my next comment. Not only will I have more to write about this, but I will be listing many of the ex and present bad sellers. I will no longer hold my comments back about Ebay and their allowance of “bad sellers” to flood the collectibles with cheap, forged autograph items. Ebay wants me to go away. Well, Ebay, I will not be going away no matter how much your lack of action against "bad sellers" frustrates me.

Ebay Seller "magic*moments*" is once again selling more fake autograph items. Check out their Ebay item Numbers 160121351405 and 160121478406 just to name two. And they claim to be a hobby shop. Shame on them and Ebay. I already caught them attempting to sell a Albert Pujols badly forged autograph bat (it was taken done by Ebay after it failed "Quick Opinion"). Why does Ebay allow sellers like this to continue selling their fakes? Money!!! Here's the irony. I can be suspended for informing a bidder that they are bidding on a forgery, but that seller of a forged autograph item is allowed to commit fraud. Think about that. Shame on Ebay.

This Clemens ball could be genuine...it is close, but I agree with Wayne...Sharpies on baseballs make too fat of a line, and shakiness is not as noticeable from afar. I would also have to look at other items he is selling.

Sharpies end up being a better choice for non-reg balls like Macgregors...the sigs don't fade into the cover as quickly - just a note from a collector. I never collect things like this - the real treat/value is having a sig on an official baseball..

Hey guys, please check out the fake autograph items from Ebay Seller "Realgridiron." They used to sell fake autograph items under their previous Ebay ID "Cheryl34446." How in the heck does Ebay allow this seller to change their Ebay ID and then to allow them to sell fakes under their new Ebay ID? Can Ebay explain that one to us please. Check out their Ebay Item Numbers 260125596380 and 260125601055. As a matter of fact, this Ebay Seller "Realgridiron" has eight fake Daisuke Matsuzaka autographed baseballs, a few fake Derek Jeter autographed baseballs, a fake Arod autographed baseballs, etc. now listed on Ebay. Why wasn't this seller flagged by Ebay? Money?

Check out these two Ebay Item Numbers: 250125244855 and 250123654117 from Ebay Seller "mjk4143." Two horrible fakes. The fake autographed baseball of Jeter from this seller (mjk4143) comes with a COA from "Play-Ball." That tells the story right there. Shame on the seller and Ebay.

Below is a copy of an email I received from Ebay Seller "Realgridiron" who is selling all of these fake autographed baseballs:

I have already reported you for both your user names and the harassment that you keep doing to me. Ebay will be taking care of it so take care and have a good day.
Thank You

I guess I am suppose to be intimidated by her email.

1- The Clemens is a fake. It is done too slowly and you can tell by the top of the "C".

2- Lots of fake OBAMA autos on ebay! 230136606065, 160122187476 (kickbuttbooks must be on Obama's staff because he has 5 of him up every week! Only problem is thier all FAKE!), 230137544755, 160124101880, etc.!

3- Real Obama sigs: Nicksportsautographs 160124443461

Ebay Seller "Realgridiron" also listed 4, yes count them 4, fake Peyton Manning autographed mini-helmets. This is totally incredible that Ebay has allowed this seller to list such garbage after numerous complaints. Shame on both parties. And that forged autographed Derek Jeter baseball from seller "Yeahandstuff" is still an active listing even after they relisted after Ebay removed it for failing "Quick Opinion." It's all about the money folks! As for all of those "Obama" fakes on Ebay, they started months ago. Ebay seller "Allrealnice" sold a few "Obama" fake autograph items. Such is the norm on Ebay where fraudulent activity is at epidemic proportions and the bad guys know that for the post part, there is nothing to fear from Ebay. What percentage of Ebay's profits are directly from the sale of fraudulent items, forged autographs, etc? Think about that.

Ebay Seller "Redhorde74" continues to sell his forged autograph cards of Jeter and Pujols (Item Number 280122060306). His auctions always state "OBTAINED FROM A REPUTABLE PRIVATE COLLECTOR IN CLEVELAND." Amazing how that "private collector in Cleveland" seems to have an infinite supply of autographed Pujols and Jeter cards. Again my reports to Ebay are to no avail.

Interesting you mention the collector in Cleveland Chris. I was reading something a while back...maybe someone can assist with this one...

Something about a huge forgery ring coming out of Ohio. I may have read things on an auction house site...yup. I think it was RObert Edward auctions - about a number of bad items coming from Ohio - the SAME person?

Bigtruck, thanks for the link to that site. Interesting article. What I find infuriating is the fact that a powerhouse company like Ebay, who has the resources to combat fraud, looks at all of the garbage with a blind eye and allows tens of thousands of fraudulent autograph items to be sold on their webiste year after year. I am sure that number gets higher year after year because Ebay allows these "copy-cat bad sellers" to hop on the band wagon. These "copy-cat bad sellers" see how easy it is to get away with selling fake autograph on Ebay and Ebay really doesn't care since the sales of fake autograph items on their website means more income for them. Ebay claims they care about combating fraud but I have yet to see evidence of that "caring." When sellers like "favoritessc," "yeahandstuff," "ans_autographs," "2004senod2004," "dqbean252," "realgridiron," "sportsguy20000," etc. and others to continue selling fakes. Or ex-Ebay seller like "americansportscollectibles" who sold a few thousand autographed footballs. It took Ebay 18 months to boot that seller but in the meantime Ebay made tons of money from the sales of fake autographed footballs from seller "americansportscollectibles." Or ex_Ebay seller "Alwayz_rackin05" who sold dozens of forged autographed team-signed football helmets before Ebay booted him. Of course, before Ebay booted him they made a ton in fees from the sales of those $300.00-$600.00 fake autographed helmets. Or ex-Ebay seller "tripppn" who also sold numerous forged team-signed football helmets. These are just a few. Presently, I have complained numerous times about seller "realgridiron" who is selling very obvious fake autographed baseballs. I will compiling a list of all the bad sellers I have encountered on Ebay and will be putting that list here. This list will consist of "bad sellers" that Ebay made tons of money from the sales of fake autograph items.

Here's another irony from Ebay that just popped in my head. A buyer can be suspended from Ebay if they accumulate three "unpaid item strikes," but a "bad seller" can sell thousands of forgeries without fear of reprisal. How screwed up is that! I've become a much more active these days because Ebay has basically infuriated me due to their lack of action. Well, their lack of action simply makes me more active and vocal. To continually make profits from the sales of forgeries is beyond my comprehension for a major corporation. What happens if a real "Auction House" is caught selling forgeries? Well I would think they would have to buy them back and pay some kind of fine. What would happen if Ebay had to refund the money to every buyer on Ebay who purchased a forgery? They would go bankrupt, that's what would happen! Eventually someone big in the media will pick up on this and we will make waves. I am considering going to the NY Times with my 12 inches of documentation and seeing if they would want to run with this story. The NY Times is only 55 minutes drive from me. I'll be thinking about it.

Bob, I won't speak for the owner of this blog, but I will write that because of the work we do we were getting attacked personally by the "bad seller from Ebay." As bad as the "bad sellers" are we have never attacked them personally, but since they have no justification for what they are doing, they attack us personally. These "bad sellers" have always had the opportunity here to explain "how they acquire their autographs, etc." But they can't explain it since they are selling forgeries, so they attack us personally and I personally won't tolerate that, and I appreciate the owner of this blog taking that into consideration. If you have facts to present here then please feel free to so, but do not attack us good guys personally. Like I've always written, us good guys are more of a target then the "bad guys" and there is something seriously wrong with that. We are here trying to do something good and it can be very frustrating. Both the "bad guys" and Ebay want us to go away but we won't be going away any time soon. One day there will be an "Operation Bullpen 2" and I will be more than happy to give them every bit of data that I've accumulated over the years. Selling fake autographs is fraud. Fraud is a crime. There is no gray area, it is black and white.

I had previously written of a LeBron James fake (Ebay Item Number 200115426869) being sold by Ebay Seller "candace123." It, of course, was rejected by "Quick Opinion" and Ebay finally pulled it (Took Ebay two days to remove it). Well, I emailed seller "Candace123" about the fake Ladanian Tomlinson autographed jersey he was selling. I informed him that I'd be submitting it to "Quick Opinion" last night. Well, within two hours of that email he "ended this listing early to sell to the high bidder(s) at current bid price." By doing that he admitted to selling a fake because he knew that after it failed "Quick Opinion" Ebay would remove it. I wasn't going to submit it to "Quick Opinion" but I wanted to see if "candace123" would end his auction early and he did. He indicted himself.

I forgot to mention the Ebay Item Number in which Ebay Seller "Candace123" ended his listing early to avoid Ebay removing it. It is Ebay Item Number 200115146415. That fake LD Tomlinson autographed jersey sold for $300.00. He ended early because he knew it would be rejected by "Quick Opinion" and then removed by Ebay. Like I mentioned before he indicted himself.

It's really too bad that with my Ebay account I am limited to only saving "100 Favorite Sellers." Of course, my "100 Favorite Sellers" are all sellers who sell fake autograph items. And I just noticed that once again Ebay has allowed seller "Savant01" to continue selling his fakes. he just listed more fakes including a horrible-looking Ken Griffey autographed bat (Ebay Item Number 220120343590). Ebay Seller "Savant01" has sold over 930 fake autograph items during his time on Ebay and he continues to sell his fakes. His items have never passed "Quick Opinion."

After checking for Albert Pujols forged items on Ebay, I discovered another seller who is selling very questionable autograph items. Items like a LeBron James autographed floorboard (Ebay Item Number 190103719116) that he is selling for only $99.00 or "Best Offer." As we all know, LeBron James fake autograph items have quadrupled on Ebay since the Cavs got to the semi-finals and now the finals. Of course, Ebay loves it since it means more profits (from the sales of fake autograph items) for them. I also noticed that Ebay Seller "ans_autographs" is now selling fake autograph items of entertainment personalities like Bruce Springsteen. Yes, folks, they are forgeries, too.

GUys -

Take a look at the items from this seller:

aimgauctions

He has two PSA items, and the rest are from GAI. Look closeley at the GAI approved items - all but one are garbage. Seller claims that he gets his supply from Albert's best friend, and includes a yearvook photo. I know who this person is, and several sellers in the STL area think he is a fraud...also, apparently he has been banned from Game Used Forum under several user names. This is proof to me that GAI is passing items in bulk for monetary purposes, and not for the greater good of the hobby.

Let's hear what you think.

Bob - The negative comments were getting so bad in this forum that legal ramifications were ineveitable. If you post something, I would suggest being professional. This forum is about exposing bad autographs on eBay...

I'll be writing a lot more later, but I wanted to comment to Bigtruck's comment and the GAI Authenticated auctions from Ebay Seller "Aimgauctions." First of all, the seller does have one legitimate PSA Authenticated Albert Pujols autographed baseball and it is a true Albert Pujols autographed baseball. Then there's the very questionable GAI Authenticated autograph items which in one word are "junk." Who over there at Global authenticated that "junk?" The problem is that the collectibles industry is so huge that companies like Ebay and Global are taking advantage of it. With Ebay it's very simply, in the fact that they assume no responsibility for the fraudulent sellers on their website, but they are more than happy to accept the monetary fees connected with all of those fraudulent autograph items. And Global, well I've never been a fan of Global since a few years ago when I observed on Ebay numerous Derek Jeter GIA Authenticated autographs that weren't close to Derek's autograph. I will have more to write later tonight.....

In response to this incorrect opinion...I will respond. First of all, I am not claiming i received anything from Albert's best friend. I have batting gloves that Albert's Best friend in high school originally sold to my buddy and wrote an loa for.

The rest of my pujols stuff however.....I absolutely did not claim such a thing. However, I will make one guarantee. The pujols family foundation or anyone else can show the items I am selling to albert pujols himself and he will know they are genuine and were signed by him. I know this becasue I know where most of my signatures came from. i have 2 or 3 things on there I bought off of ebay last season and that GAI authenticated....the rest of it came from a rock solid source. i will go against anyone when it comes to the Pujols autos I have aquired....and there are many more in my posession.

MY REPLY:

In my opinion, "junk" is a fake autograph. These autographs are not fake. I am so positive about the authenticity of my pujols autos and my "source" is so good, that I am 10000% for sure these autographs were hand signed by Albert Pujols.

As far as dealers in St. Louis saying I am a "fraud", what a joke that is. I would love to hear who is saying that? I am assuming it is because those people are jealous that I have Pujols autographs in quantity and don't believe that is possible. I can see why people would think that. However, those people obviously do not know who my source was. Albert signed autographs in quantity for several people before his UDA deal....I just happen to be close to one of those people. So be very careful what you say is fake and who you say is a fraud because I am positive Albert remembers signing this stuff and knows who he signed it for, and I have about 80 more Albert Pujols signatures in my collection from the same source. My source is just as good as UDA, etc.

I find it very funny that "Christopher" and "Big Truck" think they are Pujols experts but are unable to pick out my Pujols signed items as being genuine. Since I know they are real and would submit to any investigation regarding them and my source, I think it is a joke that those 2 clowns are actually trying to authenticate Pujols signatures. They obviously have not seen too many post-2006 W.S. signatures.

Lastly, I am banned from the game Used universe site for one reason.......standing up for myself.

I aquired a set of game used jerseys including a Tery Bradshaw and a Roger Staubach. people accused me of having fake jerseys on that site. However, after Lampson and MEARS passed the jerseys with flying colors, I had $20,000+ in my pocket.

The same thing happened with a 2003 Albert Pujols road jersey. Self appointed Pujols game used authentication "expert" Rob Steinmetz and others on the site tried to say my jersey was bogus. In addition, Ron Steinmetz denied being the seller of the jersey too, (while my source said he bought it from rob) which means maybe Rob though he sold a bad jersey or did not aquire it professionally? Who knows? Anyway...i got into it with people on that forum because they were trying to pick a fight and call me a fraud. So what did I do? I called my friend who was able to have albert examine the jersey. After albert looked at some of the writing he had put on the jersey and the tag that was removed, he said it was his and signed it.

So basically, i was banned for sticking up for myself and proving that my stuff was good and for not revealing to the moderators stuff that was said about their bidding habits by an auction house.

For the "bad guys" that post in here, none of us that expose you "bad sellers" have ever revealed our Ebay ID nor do we use this forum to sell our items. As a matter of fact, I am more of a buyer than a seller by far. But more importantly, we are here to expose the "bad sellers" on Ebay who sell forgeries. Plain and simple. We are sick and tired of you "bad sellers." You give the collectibles a bad name and you hurt the legitimate sellers by selling your cheap, forged autograph items. Selling forgereis is fraud. Fraud is a crime. For some reason it is allowed on Ebay, but it is still fraud and it is still a crime. There is no gray area, it is black and white.

Thanks for the rebuttal. I find it kind of interesting that of all that stuff you have up on eBay, none of it is really selling at market value. People are finally starting to figure out that GAI is passing items that are questionable.

As far as Rob Steinmetz goes, most high end collectors would buy items from him that are not even authenticated simply because of his stellar reputation in the business. Anyone who looks at those sigs you have can see that they are off -

I'll give you this: you have a source who thinks your sigs are real at GAI. And regardless of what I think, you are correct - I am not an expert.

Your credibility suffers because you have dissolved realationships with the biggest names in STL collecting. If someone would have stood up for you - maybe my posts would be more positive.

You have said your peace, and I have said mine. Good luck selling your GAI authenticated items.

Bigtruck.....my email address is deronwilliams8@hotmail.com. I ask you kindly to email me and we can discuss the items from there. I will provide my phone number or you can provide yours and we will go from there. I will be more than happy to give you some background on this stuff.

as far as the items selling below market value.....have you been watching ebay recently? 2 psa/dna pujols 11x14 photos both sold for 110 and 85 I think it was. A JSA authenticated and slabbed card sold for $55. Steiner baseballs have sold as low as $165. Look at those prices compared to what my stuff is selling for (the GAI stuff) and its not that far off. Let me tell you this....if you take the chance to discuss with me where I got this Pujols stuff, you would be a believer. Secondly...I was recently in a St. Louis card shop and saw 3 signatures that the Pujols Family Foundation director brought into the store. I bet you would say 2 of 3 are fake because 2 of them match the newer style sigs i have some of on ebay. PSa and JSa would fail them too. But Albert signed them for the foundation director so obviously they are real. email me---deronwilliams8@hotmail.com. If you still think my stuff is fake after we apeak, I will be shocked.

I just sold a Pujols ball from his foundation for $350 - that is market value. People are realizing that Steiner and Mounted sigs may be authentic - but they are horrible.

I am not emailing anyone - I have already given you my opinion and I will not beat it to death. The market for Pujols itmes by authenicators in general is down (PSA, JSA and GAI) - people are beginning to lose faith in opinions from these companies.

Albert's scribble sig is not as desirable now that folks have seen his new sig (Which David A. seems to have plenty of). The market is there for items with genuine authenticity and a quality sig.

The PSA photos that you refer to were inkjet non-mint photos that looked like they had lines in them from the printer - do a completed items search.

David - you and I already spoke once...remember? You told me all about your authenticity and how everyone in STL was wrong except for you. They were all jealous.

Fine.

I am accepting what you do as legit because you have used a third party to authenticate your items...but I can still have my opinion of that particular company.

The market for quality Pujols signatures from UDA or the Old Foundation products is there. People have confidence in them. That is why UDA can sell a signed photo for $800 and your photo sold for $100. That's a pretty good margin.

But, if you are comfortable with that - fine.

As far as Crystal - never heard from her after her fiasco.

Ebay Item Number 200117295605, which was rejected by "Quick Opinion" on June 13th, 2007, just four days ago, was allowed by Ebay to be sold to the winning bidder. The seller of that fake autograph item and many items, is, of course, Ebay Seller "candace123," who is the seller of many fake autograph items on Ebay. Just this week alone, three of his autograph items that I submitted to "Quick Opinion" were rejected. His items have never passed "Quick Opinion." But Ebay like sellers like that because whether his items are fake or not, he makes Ebay a lot in fees. You see Ebay is getting sick of me submitting "Quick Opinions," because every time I do it costs Ebay money. This week also, three autograph items from Ebay Seller "vick7-vick7" failed "Quick Opinion" and yet they are allowed to continue selling. Ebay seller "Realgridiron" who just changed their Ebay ID to "perch7i2" is allowed to continue selling and they just sold three Muhammed Ali fake autographed boxing gloves for $220.00 and more. Notice how sellers like "candace123" and "perch7i2" keep their auctions as "Private Auctions." Well they don't collectors like us warning the bidders that they are bidding on fakes. Ebay must abolish that "private listing" bullcrap. But then again, why would they do that, when they won't even flush their website of the fake autograph sellers. How about the situation with Ebay seller "Yeahandstuff." Their obvious forgery of a signed Derek Jeter autographed baseball was rejected by "Quick Opinion" and Ebay removed it. Within a few hours, seller "Yeahandstuff" relisted that forgery and Ebay allowed it to run. What's the deal with that, Ebay? Why doesn't Ebay work with us as opposed to working against us? Is it all about fees and stock price? How many hundreds of thousands of dollars or millions of dollars has Ebay made from the sales of fake autograph items? Think about that staggering amount of money!

check out the items from "jwbraiders" look at his feedback to see what kind of prices his signed 8x10s have sold for.. kobe & lebron photos sold for like $20 each.. that just screams FAKE. also, read his item descriptions. some of these sellers crack me up with their items being "100% authentic".

At 2:51 AM , Blogger Christopher said...

Hey-J-Man, Ebay seller "jwbraiders" should have been on that list above. They, too, was one of the first Ebay Sellers I investigated when I initiated my findings over two years ago. And yet Ebay allows them to continue to sell.

Another point I wanted to make is the "Power Seller" status that many of the "bad sellers" have listed next to their Ebay ID. Don't be too impressed by that "Power Seller" status. I could sell 500 boxes of toothpicks every month for three months I will achieve "Power Seller" status. Big deal. Ebay Seller "candace123" sells fake autograph items and yet he is a so-called "Power Seller." And speaking of Ebay Seller "candace123" notice that he also sells autograph items that come with a COA from that "Authentic-Graph" group down in Maryland. Just how big is that ring down there in Maryland? Ebay seller "magic*moments*" has "Power Seller" status and yet I've proved through "Quick Opinion" that they (a hobby store) were selling fake autograph items. Ebay Seller "onlinesportsnmore" was a "Power Seller" and yet he sold fake autograph items. So please, don't be impressed by the "Power Seller" status. Ebay Seller "vick7-vick7" has "Power Seller" status and yet last week all three of their autograph items that I submitted to "Quick Opinion" were all rejected. Interesting isn't it?

At 3:26 PM , Blogger Christopher said...

Ebay Seller "perch7i2" just listed 23 more fake autograph items including three more fake autographed Muhammed Ali boxing gloves, plus a really badly forged autographed baseball of Albert Pujols (Ebay Item Number 260130294761). Selling forgeries for money is fraud. Fraud is a crime. People have gone to jail for activity like this.

WHen an item is authenitcated by a major authentication company (not a forensics examiner), if the item in question is called into question, it is usually the authentication company that is being complained about.

I find it quite curious that all of a sudden Ebay removed all of the GAI Authenticated auctions that were listed by Ebay seller "aimgauctions." And please make no mistake about it, those GAI Authenticated autograph items were removed by Ebay. I was keeping a "Watch" on a few of those GAI Autograph Auctions from seller "aimgauctions" so I do know they were removed and not cancelled by the seller. Many of us for years have questioned many of the GAI Authenicated items. In my case it was Derek Jeter autograph items and in Bigtruck's case it was Albert Pujols autograph items.

At 4:51 PM , Blogger Christopher said...

Over the years that I've been doing my investigation of the fake autograph memorabilia industry, I've encountered many Ebay Sellers who have literally sold thousands of fake autograph items on Ebay. During the last two weeks (just like years ago) Ebay Seller "candace123" autograph items have never passed "Quick Opinion." Last week I submitted three to "Quick Opinion" and all three were rejected. Ebay removes all of his items okay. So how does Ebay penalize a seller who has sold thousands of fake autograph items? Ebay allows him (just today) to list his few legitimate autograph items. It just proves that it's all about the money.

Once again we good guys are the target. I have documentation that goes back 2 1/2 to 3 years ago. I keep records of everything, every Ebay ID, etc. Come on, BB; tell us what your Ebay ID is/was so I can fill you in (and the rest of the blog) on the type of items you sold. Were you one of those Ebay Sellers who got booted off Ebay and went to Yahoo to sell your autograph items? Were one of those sellers who sold thousands of autograph items without having any contact with any athletes? Let us know, BB. Let us know your inventory of autographed memorabilia. I will not back down. Those that sell fake autograph items are the people that should be hit with a lawsuit and jailed. Selling fake autograph items in exchange for money is fraud. You sellers of fake autograph items think you can hide behind Ebay. The majority of Ebay buyers think that just because a autograph item is on Ebay that it must be authentic. Well nothing could be further from the truth. Unfortunately, Ebay is a hot bed for sales of fake autograph items. There are buyers who know they are buying cheap fake autograph items. After they purchase the cheap, fake autograph items, many times they sell them locally for 3-4 times their purchase price. Then if they get caught selling those fakes they blame it on the seller they bought it from. You sell a fake, then you suffer the consequences if you're caught. The truth is, too, is that Ebay is not all to blame for this mess. What is wrong with the buyers of this garbage? What has happened to common sense? For collectors like myself, Bigtruck and others, it is obvious when seller's are selling forgeries. Example: I would like selelr "perch7i2" to tell us how she was able to acquire seven (7) Muhammed Ali autographed boxing gloves? Collectors bought her garbage for between $220.00 and $250.00. A true Muhammed Ali UDA autographed boxing glove sells for over $1,000.00. BY the way, I will be doing a You Tube video on this stuff. I have already scripted it. When it is finally posted I will announce it here. By the way, BB, if you're so sure about your autograph items then let us know who you are? Don't hide like the majority of "bad sellers" do. If you're legit tell us who you are. You write "It is time someone stood up to you." No, it's time that we stood up to the "bad sellers." I've been doing it for almsot three years despite threatening emails, etc. Are we suppose to back off, BB?

Just a quick comment to Chris, J-man, and Bigtruck! First let me begin by stating I have bought a few items on eBay but never have sold anything, so regardless what Bigtruck might think, I am not one of the bad sellers! In fact I work for the IRS as an agent in Tax Enforcement and Compliance.I actually found this blog during a Google search for info on fake autographs. I have a law degree, but do not practice law! I am concerned about you guys leaving yourselves open to a libel suit. What you are doing, although very noble, is bordering on libel! When you print something in a public forum, it goes on record. My question is why do you put your financial security at risk? You depend entirely on quick opinions done by PSA/DNA! Then you severely trash GAI, who is a reputable authentication company. PSA/DNA has quite a few complaints filed against them with the BBB and most are unanswered. EBay chooses to use GAI as a authentication company of chice. How can you put all your eggs in one basket? You praise PSA and trash GAI. In my opinion, and it is just my opinion, a judge would have a problem with they way you choose to prove the seller's items are fake. After all, Opinions are just that, opinions! I see quite a few items on eBay that I personally believe that are not authentic. I commend you for what you do, but I hope you do not suffer financially for your effort! Why not just get a new girl friend adn get on with your lives? Except for Bigtruck, that is! I have seen your photo on your "about me" page and you definitely need to find a vision impaired companion! Thanks for your time and just kidding Bigtruck! MikeT

Hello to all, I have been a huge fan of this board for a good period of time now, and first want to say that what you guys are doing here is great for a real collector like me...Unfortunately, my day job in the legal field makes me feel obligated to come on here and spread a few tidbits of knowledge in regards to these postings...First of all, these fraudulent sellers are out there, and are the scum of the earth if you ask me- and however many times it has crossed my mind to go after these guys legally, they have every right in the book to pursue a lawsuit against any one of us that come on here and attack them and accuse them of selling fakes without any proof...No, PSA/DNA's Quick Opinion is not proof, as some of you call it on here...It is exactly what the name insinuates; an "opinion..." PSA has so many lawsuits filed against them that it is sad that people pay $7.50 every time thinking that their opinion would convict anyone. I have looked in to nailing these guys in the past and pretty much the only way to really take these guys out is to get them on camera forging autographs, or record a conversation in which they are admitting guilt...The autograph not looking the same as ones you have acquired in the past is not concrete proof of a forgery, despite however obvious it is, and a lot of these statements that are made here would never hold up in a court of law, and one would be naive to believe so- that is why most of the forgers that have gone down in the past were taken in on the grounds of tax evasion, because there is no case against the forgery aspect in so many situations...The bottom line of what I am trying to get at is please be careful with these postings, this is a great site that has helped me many times but the law is the law, and I would hate to see one of the good guys go down for slander by one of these phony sellers, it would be a tragedy!!! I look forward to contributing my insights more often on here and look forward to all of the helpful info in the future...Thanks!

With regard to the above mentioned litigious nature of posted comments. It is my understanding that you ARE REQUIRED TO PROVE AND EXHIBIT a financial loss, before you can gain any funds from a liable suit.
It would be almost impossible to prove any specific or substantial monetary loss in the cyber-financial flea market of eBay.

I talked to a friend of mine who is a lawyer - and blogs are public forums - and are protected by First Amendment priveldges. I appreciate your concern for my financial well-being, and my love life...but I think I am doing OK.

I feel that I can complain about a company when I have items that I bought from a straight GAI dealer on eBay failed 2 other eBay approved authentication services. PSA quick opinion is an approved service on eBay - and if an item fails quick opinion, eBay should respect that - or they are playing favorites with certain high dollar sellers. Most of the examples that are discussed in this forum are disputable since GAI, PSA and JSA approvals are all OPINIONS. If they are OPINIONS, then we can be as critical as we want of them - they set themselves up for it.

They know that they are not 100%. Many high end dealers laugh at the authentication companies in various publications and online journals...and they are not sued for libel.

"Mike" you are about the 10th person that has said something about a libel suit. The guys who are forgers will not do a thing - because they want to stay in the dark and stir up as little as possible.

If any of the people in this forum who have been accused of anything in the past simply proved that what they do is legit...I will be first in line to apologize. But it rarely happens. They would rather try to intimidate us....

One more thing...I don't rely on PSA Quick opinion - I rarely use it. I have GAI items at home that did not need a GAI sticker...they are obviously authentic. Spence too. It is dad that we have to resort to gathering third part opinions before an item will fetch a good price on eBay.

BUT, that is the state of the market - it is full of fakes, frauds and forgers. That is why we write on this board.

With all due respect, I have to write that it is about time that someone stands up to sellers of forged autograph items. What are we suppose to do, just sit around while these sellers of forged autograph items continue to sell their garbage? These sellers hide behind Ebay and the "buyer bewares" signs! Except for "Operation Bullpen" no action, for the most part, is ever taken against sellers of forged autograph items. I will not speak for anyone else, but I am sick and tired of watching these sellers selling their garbage day after day! I am not doing this to be noble; I am doing this because it isn't right. I want someone to tell me how these hundreds or thousands of these sellers who sell forgeries are able to acquire month after month autographs of every major athlete from every major sport? And do you know that the autograph auctions that I submit "Quick Opinions" on are the ones that I know are fake. I do it purely for documentation purposes. I keep all kinds of records, I print out the actual auctions, etc. Why is that we are more of a target than the bad guys? Isn't selling forgeries in exchange for money fraud? Isn't fraud a crime? And yet we are the ones who are threatened. We are the ones who are targeted. Why are most people afraid of sellers of fake autograph items? Why is it that the autograph items from these sellers that I submit to "Quick Opinion" never pass? I mean not one ever passes? What does that tell you? And what's really frustrating is that a few months following "Operation Bullpen" it started all over again, snowballed and only got worse then before "Operation Bullpen." And during the past year, "copy-cat bad sellers" have sprung up all over Ebay because they see how easy it is to do and get away with. The worse that can happen to them is that they get suspended and a few days later get back on Ebay under a new seller ID. But in the meantime they've made huge profits selling fakes. Why aren't these people prosecuted? And why should we just look the other way? I am puzzled and angry at this kind of fraud not being prosecuted. And I will not back down. If they want to come after me, then so be it. I will take this national (I'm 50 minutes from New York City and the New York Times) and take it public. I don't hide. And I don't hide behind "Private Auctions" and other amenities afforded sellers of fake autograph items on the auction sites.

I appreciate the previous two comments of professionals from the legal profession. And, Bigtruck, has always been a huge supporter of us here. I will repeat myself one more time in reference to the "Quick Opinion" services from PSA that I use. I do not use the service to "prove that any seller is selling fakes." I use it for documentation purposes. Those autographs auctions that I submit to "Quick Opinion" are all obvious fakes, no proof needed. It also helps that Ebay removes most auctions that are rejected by "Quick Opinion." It is also a way of sending the seller a "message" that we are watching them and that we know the garbage they are selling. And like Bigtruck mentioned, the last thing these sellers want is for this to go public or national. I always think about the fact that if I didn't start this work almost three years ago that many of those sellers that I first investigated would still be selling their garbage, which means that those sellers who sold over 2,500 fake autograph items before they were booted by Ebay, would have sold over 7,500 by this time. That's the tragedy, too, the millions of collectors who now own fake autograph items that they have displayed in their home or office.

Below is the exact email I received from Ebay Seller "Sportzfanatix4u."

HI THERE.
THE ITEMS WE SELL ARE NOT FAKE IN ANY SHAPE OR FORM! WHAT IS YOUR PROBLEM? WE HAVE ALL ORIGINAL RECIEPTS FOR EACH AND EVERY ITEM WE SELL. ALL ITEMS COME WITH THE APPROPRIATE PAPERWORK. HOW DARE YOU ACCUSE US OF SELLING "FAKES". YOU SHOULD MIND YOUR OWN BUSINESS AND BOTHER THE REAL FRAUDS SELLING ON EBAY. GO AHEAD AND REPORT US, IT MAY TAKE LONGER TO GET REINSTATED BACK ON EBAY, BUT WITH OUR PROOF OF OUR ITEMS WE WILL BE REINSTATED. IF FOR SOME REASON WE ARE KICKED OFF OF EBAY, AT LEAST NOW WE KNOW WHO THE ACCUSER IS. BE CAREFULL OF WHAT YOU BUY OR SELL, YOU DON'T THINK THIS IS THE ONLY ACCOUNT WE ARE ASSOCIATED WITH DO YOU??? GOOD LUCK, AND IF YOU FIND ANY PROBLEMS WITH SELLING YOUR ITEMS, DON'T FORGET I TOLD YOU SO, LETS HOPE OUR ITEMS STAY ON EBAY FOR BOTH OF OUR SAKES. THANKS!!!

Judging by the email they are obviously not a "new" Ebay seller. They also throw a passive threat at me and they obviously are already aware of the suspension and reinstatement practices of Ebay. They just revealed themselves.

I happened to come across one of their auctions...a McGwire/Bonds ball that from the gallery photo looked good. I don't collect Bonds - the only reason I looked was the curios price tag of $74.99. When I saw the larger photo, it was obviously traced. They had others too. When I asked them about it, they said that they purchased the items at a store in FL called Field of Dreams...

Interesting note. After Chris posted about it here, the seller removed all of his items - why would he do that if they were legit? Maybe he will sue us.

guys, what do you think about the seller "otclocal" with his company "ONtheCOURTSports"? i think it is odd to have so many items signed by star players.. i've seen a couple lebron's, kobe's, and carmelo's which were all signed in person either at a team hotel or via locker room pass. many of the items they sell are authenticated by GAI.
please let me know, i am looking to buy an allen iverson autograph from them (which comes with a coa from AI's memorabilia company- which makes me feel better about that item atleast)

thanks guys

It's unbelievable that Ebay still allows seller "perch7i2" to sell her fakes. Check out Ebay item Number 260131485792 that as of this writing is at $165.00. This seller sells nothing but fakes. Her previous Ebay ID was "realgridiron." Another seller that Ebay allows to continue to sell is "vick7-vick7." Her autograph items have never passed "Quick Opinion." They never passed "Quick Opinion" because they were obvious fakes.

At 9:20 PM , Blogger ty said...

Why would they vick7-vick7 have all good feedback if her items we fake? So every single ebay name you listed has failed your quick opinion every time? None had ever had passed the test is what you are saying? I dont believe it at all.

At 2:07 AM , Blogger Christopher said...

TY, great feedback has no connection at all to a seller's autographs being authentic. There is absolutely no connection at all. The majority of "bad sellers" that we mention in here have great feedback because they ship their items promptly. The majority of autograph buyers on Ebay have this idea that because a autograph item is allowed to be listed on Ebay that it must be legitimate, but nothing could be further from the truth. Ebay does not check for fake autographs when an auction goes through the "filter process" before it is actually seen by potential bidders. That same majority of "bad sellers" also hold "Power Seller" status. It doesn't mean a darn thing. It means they sell a particular number of fakes every month on a consistent basis. Let's use seller "vick7-vick7" as an example of my "Quicki Opinion" results. I submitted exactly three of her autograph items to "Quick Opinion" and all three were rejected. Ebay seller "ans_autographs" has 99.7% positive feedback and yet every one of their autograph auctions as of June 28, 2007 have been fake. Ebay Seller "js1757" and "pjuice1757 (both the same person)" has over 99% positive feedback and yet he sold over one dozen fake Tiger Woods autographed golf balls. I could go on and on. That's the problem, many of you people don't want to believe that the problem is as bad as it really is on Ebay. As bad as it was before "Operation Bullpen" during the year 2000, it is much worse now because now we have hundreds of "copy cat bad sellers" on Ebay because they see how easy it is to get away with selling fake autograph items on Ebay. And if they get caught there is no fines or jail term; they simply get slapped on the wrist by being suspended and then they come back on a few days or weeks later under a new Ebay ID. The selling of fake autograph items on Ebay is at epidemic proportions. No one will convince me otherwise.

Ebay seller "perch7i2" after selling a fake autographed Derek Jeter jersey last night for $183.50 (item number 260131485792) just listed two more that are exactly like the first one. These teo are item numbers 260131484587 and 260131494147.

At 5:35 AM , Blogger j-man said...

ty,
they have all positive feedback because the people who buy from them don't know they are fakes. feedback means nothing in this case.
also, i believe chris sends in the items for quick opinion that he knows are fakes, just to have the information kept on record. that is why they never passed, because he knows they are fakes prior to submitting

At 8:46 AM , Blogger bigtruck260 said...

The reason so many sellers of fakes have high feedback is because the buyers do not know any better. The sellers package the items and ship them lightning quick to alleviate any other problems. The buyer gets the item in 3 days and is happy. If they bought the item after seeing the photo, they already know what it looks like.

Occasionally, you will see a folow up to a positive comment from a buyer who sent an item to JSA or PSA and it came back rejected.

Most of the time, the people who buy those items are trying to find one item...the price is so good that they could care less about authenticity - or maybe it is for a friend....

I would bet that Chris has stacks of paperwork on his desk that would prove that those folks have items that failed at least once.

At 6:27 PM , Blogger j-man said...

and another thing.. a lot of times a seller will guarantee an item to pass psa or jsa and offer a full refund if it does not pass. for an unsuspecting buyer, that is a great deal, so they buy. then they look up prices to send it in to psa, and it seems like a lot of money to spend. (authentication fees, shipping, insurance) so they decide = "if the seller offers that deal, it must be real, because why else can they guarantee that??"

At 3:11 AM , Blogger Christopher said...

After checking my records, etc I have discovered that Ebay Seller "Forloveofthegame300" was also Ebay Seller "Cavemancandoit99." He was selling fakes as "Cavemancandoit99" and is now selling fakes as Ebay Seller "Forloveofthegame300." How in the heck did Ebay allow this seller back on to sell their fakes!!! IN a little over 2 months time Ebay Seller "Fortheloveofthegame300" has sold over 250 fake autograph items and that is after he was caught selling fakes under Ebay ID "cavemancandoit99." It is incredible that Ebay didn't flag this seller of flag of fake autograph items.

This is from some investigation done earlier this week (June 25, 2007)
It started with someone on another forum raising a question about the authenticity of eBay auction 110142397551.
I looked at the seller and his activity for the past 30 days and initially found and posted the following:
There is A LOT going on here behind the scenes.
ONE eBay ID milwaukeefielder from May 28 to date has WON 35 auctions listed by this seller signiturememorabilia. Yet the seller has NEVER given the buyer ANY feedback and the buyer has never left the seller any feedback.
Currently milwaukeefielder is the high bidder on 13 live auctions being held by signiturememorabilia.
I personally would buy NOTHING here.
Later in the day I posted this:I just finished a telephone conversation with eBay customer support. In reviewing their records, milwaukeefielder has bid on or won 89 Items being sold by signiturememorabilia. There has been no feedback left by either party for either party in any of the transactions.
EBay will be bouncing signiturememoriabilia for SHILL BIDDING with the account milwaukeefielder and they are also permanently recording in his file for selling forgeries.
If you look at the attached auction you will see an excellent example of shill bidding by milwaukeefielder. 110141639608

Two days later nothing has been done by eBay and I posted this.
EBAY is really amazing. It is almost 48 hours since I talked with customer support regarding the SHILL bidding being done by this topic seller. EBAY agreed in no uncertain terms that the evidence of a SHILL bidding account was in practice and obvious.
They have still not removed the seller or his items from the system.
I think ANY courtroom or judge in the country would be inclined to agree this is GROSS NEGLIGENCE on the part of EBAY.
EBAy does not care even when they are directed to a shill bidder. To me this is a crime on the part of eBay and they need to be held accountable for not reacting to it.

Cardinarky, thank you very much for your contribution! This is why we need more "eyes" looking into activities on Ebay. The few of us here that spend time looking for these guys can't see everything, it is just impossible. I was looking at both closed and active auctions from Ebay Seller "Signiturememorabilia" and have also noticed another suspicious bidder. Unfortunately, Ebay has that new policy where the bidder names are hidden because as they put it "To help keep the eBay community safe, enhance bidder privacy, and protect our members from fraudulent emails (such as fake second chance offers), eBay has changed how bid history information is displayed. If you place a bid on a higher-priced item, only you and the seller of the item can view your User ID in the bid history. Other members can no longer view User IDs and will see anonymous names, such as Bidder 1." This policy (like "Private Auctions") actually protects the seller because it doesn't allow anyone to warn innocent bidders that the item they are bidding on is a forgery when that action is warranted. This is quite disturbing. It really is all about fees and commissions. Thank you again for that input, Cardinarky. I submitted one of that seller's auctions to "Quick Opinion."

Of course, Ebay Item Number 110142400579 (one of his two NY Mets team-signed batting helmets) was rejected by "Quick Opinion." Also, check out closed auction Item Number 110138652186. To comment on sellers Redhorde and Minahsports:

These sellers are part of a larger ring, as they sell the exact same items, usually in combination wth one another...Pujols/Jeter, etc. They auctions usually close under $20. I have been watching them for a while now - they used to sell itmes from Platinum Sports, now it is MAIL autographs. Pujols does not sign by mail at home, the stadium or through his foundation. The director of the foundation, Todd Perry, has stated on several occasions that Albert gets hundered of requests weekly - and does not have time to even send an autopen signature. Jeter is probably the same way.

I think that both of the above mentioned sellers are buying from the same person, and that person probably adsvertises in a publication...

SHILL BIDDING is the worst. We all know it takes place - whether someone is doing it themsleves - or a fried is doing it for them. If the sellers that do this used the RESERVE feature, they could make sure that their item does not sell for less than what they want to get for it. js1757 at one time had about 10 user names bidding on his fake Tiger Woods items when he was Pjuice1757...scum.

Below is an email I received from Ebay Seller "roadtrn." This email was received after I asked him "Why he didn't include the PSA Authentication letter in his Derek Jeter autographed photo auction?" It is Ebay Item Number 250137709008. Here is his email:

I’m waiting for you to get a quick opinion done on it. We are a group of lawyers who are tired of eBay, psa, and people like u that think psa is the end all and be all. Psa was started by the two guys who started gia they didn’t like the way psa was being run so they quit and started gia. Just because psa pays eBay a huge kickback every year, eBay tries to pass off psa as the end-all be all. Some of your quick opinion come at ungodly hours, how is it that psa has so many so-called experts 24 hrs a day and can have a five minute turn around on all quick opinions. I’ve mailed all my photos to psa and they all came back with likely authentic. I will not list them as psa certified, because I’m waiting for eBay to take them off, after one of their quick opinions come back as likely not authentic. Then we will be able to take all parties involved to court. Good Luck to you and your web site. We will be watching so be very careful as to what is said about people on your blogs, but it’s already too late. You have on many documented occasions defamed people. This will be the easiest law suit we will ever win.

Yours Truly,

Sutton,Sutton, & Stevens

First of all, if he sent anything directly to PSA he would not receive anything stating that the autograph is "Likely Authentic." It either gets authenticated or it doesn't, and we all know that. Secondly, from a sellers standpoint, if you had a autograph item that you were selling on Ebay, wouldn't you include a photo of the PSA Number on the item and the Letter Of Authenticity from PSA so that the item would sell for a higher price? Think about that. I also asked him who the heck "GIA" is.

This comment is in reference to Ebay Seller "Roadtrn" and his Derek Jeter autographed photo auction which is Ebay Item Number 250137709008. This is one of a few Ebay Sellers that I had heated email exchanges with. Now I want you guys to check out Ebay Item Number 250137709008. He claims he took the photo of that Jeter autographed photo before he sent it to PSA so that when I submitted it to "Quick Opinion" and it failed he would have a case against PSA and Ebay. In other words, he claims that autographed photo of Derek Jeter is PSA authenticated. First of all, if PSA was to authenticate that autograph they wouldn't be in business very long. Secondly, if you have a autographed photo of Derek Jeter that is authenticated by PSA you are certainly going to get much more for it as opposed to it not being authenticated. As of this writing on July 92, 2007 and 12:22PM EST that auction is going for $3.26. You can also check out his previous Ebay auctions. Check out Ebay item Numbers 250128939536, 250130826242, 250128938661 and 250130827564 just to name a few. One person penned those autographs and it wasn't Derek Jeter.

I also noticed over the weekend that Ebay removed the items of sellers "pm5k21048" and "signiturememorabilia." Below is an email I received from seller "signiturememorabilia."

just so you know this helmet not only has one third party coa but two of them , if one of my items gets removed from ebay , especially one like this , i am going to the furthest to lay a suit against you , i am a person with enough money to blow to make sure someone like you never dicks with other people again. Like I said earlier "thaks for getting involved where you dont belong" this is going to be great making sure that you never do this again .

Below is the second email I received from him after his items were removed by Ebay:

you are so f***ed ! you messed with the wrong person !

The reason all of this is happening is because we won't go away. All of these sellers thought we would have given up or let up by now, but as you can see we aren't. People like Bigtruck, J-Man, Cardinarky and, of course, the owner of this blog will continue this fight. It is ironic that (and I've written this numerous times) we are more of a target than the bad guys. It is also sad and pathetic that people are actually bidding on that garbage; that obvious garbage!!! Want to see obvious garbage. Check out this closed auction of an item which contains the autographs of Derek Jeter, Arod and Robinson Cano. It is Ebay item Number 110138652186. Why would anyone bid on something like that? Granted, the final bid was only $51.00, but that's not the point. Whether it went for $51.00 or $1.00, it is a fake. I've been watching Ebay Seller "gngsports" recently. All of his auctions are 1-day auctions. With each new set of 1-day auctions is a new Derek Jeter, Albert Pujols, etc. autographed cards. Check out this completed auction numbers: 300124161056, 300125292503 and 300124489739. Up for auction today is Ebay Item Number 300123923875. He wrote to me that he gets his autograph cards from 10 different dealers. Yet, look at all of the autographs; all penned by the same person and not Derek Jeter. But let's get back to his claim of purchasing them from 10 different dealers. How much is he paying for those Jeter autograph cards when they are only selling for between $10.00-$15.00? Why are people bidding on garbage like that?

In the past week a Ebay seller, graphs_galore has sold 11 Derek Jeter autographed ROLBs or bats. A few of the items are dual signed with Alex Rodriguex too. The autographs are something Derek's Mom would probably beat him for because they are so sloppy.
All of the autos are on junk synthetic cover baseballs.
Helen Keller could catch this one. Ebay..."just can't help but be amazed at how we, in the buying public, can find all of these things."
The answer to that is easy, you will not find anything if you never do any research.
There are currenstly 4 Derek balls for sale and a couple of A-Rod balls.

Ebay Seller "Fortheloveofthegame300 (His previous Ebay ID was 'Cavemancandoit99')" has just listed 67 more fake autograph items. Including these seven (7) badly forged Jeter autographs: 130130775519, 130130779276, 130130780207, 130130780438, 130130927898, 130130931429, 130130932852. Aside from them being obviously forged by the same person, what's even more incredible is that people are bidding on garbage like that.

I was doing some investigating today and was looking at a few sellers who regularly sell fake autographs on Ebay. I noticed Ebay seller "Skybolt11" bidding on fake autograph items from seller "fortheloveofthegame300." I also noticed that Ebay Seller "Skybolt11" was selling fake autograph items that he bought from Ebay seller "ricardoroman" who is also selling fake autograph items. If Ebay seller "Skybolt11" was really a legitimate seller of autograph items, then why in the heck would he bid on Item Number 130130929702 which is an obvious fake autograph of Alex Rodriguez being sold by Ebay seller "Fortheloveofthegame300."

If you check out the autograph items from Ebay Seller "skybolt11" you will notice that many of the autograph items he has up for auction were purchased from sellers "cavemancandoit99" and "fortheloveofthegame300," who are, of course, the same person. Check out item number 250139871811 and item number 250140252952, which originally came from Ebay Seller "ricardoroman." Also, I have to ask Ebay why they didn't remove the fake autographed NY Mets bat (Item Number 250137701281) from Ebay Seller "skybolt11" which failed "Quick Opinion." Ebay appeases us by taking action for a few days against bad sellers but then they revert to their old ways and ignore our reports. Remember folks, it's all about the money with Ebay.

I just have to put my 2 cents in here... hahaha

Its amzing you guys go around putting money on quick opinions. It means nothing. items that fail qucik opinion will pass when submitted. It all about money kids. How can you guys think PSA is out to save the hobby? I can tell you with 100% certainty they pass forgeries. They are about making money. Just as ebay is, just as GAI, JSA and everyone else is. Money makes the world turn. Think about something. It is said that 96 or 97 percent of the autographs out there are fake. So do PSA or any other authenticator fail 96 or 97 percent of the submissions they get per week? Hell no! If they did they would be out of business. People dont want to hear "Its not real". If they are told its not real enough they go where someone will say it is real. If they failed 97 percent of the submissions that came through people would stop submitting items and PSA wouldnt be a profitable company. PERIOD end of story. I know for sure there are a number of high priced items they have passed that were not real. Global has too. THis is not speculation. They all come from the same fold. PSA was started by members of JSA and GAI. They all have the same practices. Its all about having return submitters. Everyone is competing to stay alive. Case in point:
PSA used to have a fee schedule. To authenticate a Jordan autograph it used to cost about $60. Each athlete had a price. But then GAI came along and started authenticating for $10 any athelete. plus an extra $20 for a COA $50 for a letter. If the item doesnt pass you only pay $10. Who can lose with that offer? This made PSA change their whole approach to fees. Now there is no specific athlete fee schedule. why did they do it? Because GAI was getting more business. Yes GAI passes alot. Just as PSA does. If you pay $10 for a opinion and it doesnt pass, they miss a potential extra $20. Fail 1000 submissions and you have made $10,000 and lost an extra $20,000. So it doesnt take brain surgery to know that the autograph better look really bad not pass. Of course neither company will pass a Walter Payton, Johnny Untias, Muhammad Ali triple signed football, or some rare item like that. But most single signed items are no problem. Sad but true.

Think about it.. if they get 1500 submissions (small estimate) in a week how can they honestly critique them all with there super scientific method they claim to use. HAHAHA. Its a joke.

I will not lie and say every autograph I have sold is real. But I can say it had a certificate from a respected authenticator. What does that mean nothing really. but it is what the buyers look for. I have had items on ebay that failed quick opinion. So I submit it and is passes. Now i can sell the same item that was said to be "not likely genuine" because I gave them their cut of the action. WTF? Thats mob style if you ask me. But thats how it goes so i roll with it. I am about making sells as most are.

It is in PSAs best interest to fail GAI, JSA or any other alphabet authenticators items because they want to control ebay. Whoever is in control of ebay stands to make hundreds of millions of dollars. Period. So if I were PSA I would be failing anything thats not PSA items with my quick opinion service as well. Now nobody trusts anybody but my company. HAHAHA

I know alot of you will bash me for this post. But it is the truth. When it all comes down to it, who cares. Nobody knows if it is or isnt legit. If you didnt see it signed you dont know 100% if it is or isnt. None of the authenticators are experts. There is no such thing as a Autograph expert.

Cardinarky, I have no doubt that seller "graphs_galore" is a resurfaced old Ebay seller. I asked her how she acquired all of here Derek Jeter autograph items, and, of course, no reply from her, since she knows who I am. As you can see her Jeter autograph items are not Derek's autographs.

Check out the autographed cards from Ebay Seller "gngsports." All penned by the same person. He was listing a Derek Jeter autographed card every day for 6-7 days and I would email him informing him that I noticed what he was doing. Then all of a sudden he replied to me "you would happy to know this is our last one." Do you think if I hadn't been watching him that he still would have ended his string of Jeter autograph cards? I think not. He claims his autograph items are "This item was bought as a authentic autographed item from a reputable dealer or was obtained in person." Hardly.

Check out this Derek Jeter autographed baseball from Ebay Seller "angelled." It is Ebay Item Number 250139420102. It is simply horrible.

Ebay Seller "Fortheloveofthegame300" is "Not A Registered User" on Ebay. They, of course, were selling fakes under their previous Ebay ID of "Cavemancandoit99."

Thanks for all the work you guys do in searching out fraudulent sellers of sports memorabilia. You would think that since eBay is making a profit on these items, they would also ultimately be responsible for allowing these items to be sold on their sites. I will only deal with companies such as Steiner Sports, Upper Deck, Schwartz Sports, Mounted Memories, etc. because I know they are legitimate. There is no way I would buy from anyone on eBay unless they had an item authenticated by one of these companies. There are also individuals out there that have their own websites and do the same thing. We sell autographed sports memorabilia on our website at AAA Sports Memorabilia (http://www.aaasportsmemorabilia.com) and with these individuals on eBay it is really hurting our business. They can obviously sell their items cheaper because they are fake. Maybe the feds will work another sting operation and your work will be used to assist them.

Keep up the good work.
